KEY KNOWLEDGE: Italicized words are thoughts(In case you weren't aware)

Raye's POV

Why the hell am I awake at 5:45 AM? I asked myself as I rolled out of bed, unplugging my alarm clock. Honestly, whoever invented those things was a nuisance. Who even set that alarm anyway? We have, I paused to look at the calendar, no days left till school. Fuck, I've been dreading this day since I moved here 2 weeks ago.

I walked into my bathroom, stripped, and started showering. Do I have to wash my hair if I just dyed it yesterday? I wondered. Honestly, I wanted to start a new life, starting with this school.I had changed myself as much as I could, positively of course. I dyed my hair and got a couple new piercings. I was miserable at my last one, and I didn't want to repeat that if it not necessary. The water got cold as I was lost in my thoughts. I finished my cold shower as fast as possible.

I stepped out of the freezing cold shower and turned the water off. "Hurry the hell up or you wont be getting a ride. I'm not going to be late for work because of you again!" I heard my brother yell. I walked into my room to check the time and realized that I had been in the shower for an hour. I ran to the bathroom and started to do my hair. I dried it, and put my product in it. I had it in a minor side part. It felt weird. I put on my ivory-toned foundation to cover my bruised eye and then got dressed in a The Rolling Stones shirt, black jeans, and a pair of combat boots.

I trudged down the stairs, grabbed my book-bag and headed out the door into my brother's car. In a short summary, this day sucked so far. I looked out the window for the first five minutes of the ride, before my brother initiated conversation. "You seem extra cheery today sis" He said. "I don't want to go, Tyler." I said. "Can't you just enroll me in online school behind dad's back?" I looked at him and worked up the most puppy dog-eyed look I could muster. He didn't even look at me as he said, "As convincing as those puppy dog eyes are, no, I can't. Although I live out of the house, I am still not your legal guardian. Honestly, might as well be with all the time you spend in my apartment with Jess and I. Either way, that still wouldn't get you out of this day of school. Try to make some friends, okay?" He said, parking the car and looking at me. I then realized we were in front of the school.

I stepped out of the car, slinging my bag over my shoulder. I walked into the school, then realized that there is security. I probably had the weirdest look on my face as I walked up to the security check. "ID?" The security officer asked as I attempted to walk through the gate. I rummaged through my bag before finding the printed piece of paper in my bag and showing it to the man. "Enter through the gate and take the first hallway down to the admissions office." He said, pressing the button to unlock the gate bar. I walked through, nodding thankfully at the officer.

I walked down the hallway in which I was recommended. I entered the admissions office and walked up to the desk. I placed the ID on the counter and said, "I need my official ID, please." She pulled out the shiny, plastic card and handed it to me. She then gestured to a girl with a lanyard sitting behind the other counter in the office. I walked over to the girl, before waiting around for her to acknowledge my presence. After a minute of waiting, she put the book down and then jumped slightly out of her seat. "You scared me." She said. "I'm Stephanie Pearson, senior office assistant. How can I help you?" I mumbled my response, and she looked confused. I then repeated myself, trying to speak clearly, yet all I was is clearly nervous. "The woman over there told me to come over here. I'm new and I guess you're supposed to show me around." She looked dumbfounded before starting to type on her computer. She turned the computer off, grabbed a piece of paper off the printer, and looked back at me. "You're a freshman? Well, I guess I'll get to showing you around." She said, walking around the counter and out the office door. This day is going to be a long one. I sighed, following her out the door.
