Hermione and the other new Slytherins were taken to their house by the prefects. She hadn't taken much of a liking to either the boy or girl. The two had so much pride for their house to the point of annoyance for her. Once they were given the password and allowed to enter she found herself a seat and rested in front of the fireplace.
Hermione admired the dark wood and beautiful green velvet furniture, the room had a nice cedar scent to it which gave her comfort, reminding her of the woods back home. The flames had an odd white and green colour to them which had a hypnotizing effect on Hermione as she stared. The tips of the flames danced in the fireplace.
Though she enjoyed focussing on the beauty of the room her concentration was immediately pulled from the fire to a boy yelling in a rather commanding voice, "Crabbe! Goyle!" The boy's tone was sharp and harsh.
"What?" The largest kid in the room looked up at the blond boy. Immediately Hermione noticed that all of his pockets were filled completely with chocolate frogs, cauldron cakes, and acid pops. She let out a small laugh when she noticed that his mouth was filled with more candy than was in all six of his pockets.
The Slytherin boy seemed as if he were going to order him around but once he opened his mouth he seemed to realize something more important to him, "Crabbe!" No answer he turned to the prefects, "You idiots lost Crabbe!" He snapped. Hermione was deeply surprised that he had the gal to yell at the two like he did. Though she decided he was more reckless and not in any way brave.
The two's eyes widened, "Oh God- bloody hell," the female panicked, "Alright. We are going to go find Crabbe. Everyone, stay here." She fled the room.
The male prefect rolled his eyes, "Not again." He sighed and turned and jogged after his counter part.
All the Slytherin household was now staring at the hothead, but he didn't seem to care and smirked at the attention, he gazed around the room and landed his eyes on Hermione who stared back at him, "Take a picture, it'll last longer."
Hermione narrowed her eyes not wanting him to feel like he had the last word, not this entitled brat. So she said the first thing that came to her mind, "I would prefer not to break the lense." She crossed her arms, immediately regretting her choice of words, now she just wanted to leave the room. Hermione got up from the chair and walked up the stairs and prayed to God that she was going the right way to the girl's dormitory.

Hermione realized that each room had baggage which belonged to each student at Hogwarts; guessing that her room would have her cat and suit case she easily found her room. Hermione carefully unpacked and let Crookshanks, her cat, out. And flopped down on her soft mattress, running her fingers through her cat's soft fur.
A minute or two later another girl walked in, she was skinny with mousy features and long black hair, "Hi! I'm Pansy Parkinson, I believe I'm your new roommate." Pansy extended her hand two Hermione.
Hermione smiled back and shook Pansy's hand, "Hermione Granger, pleasure to meet you."
Pansy smirked as she unpacked, obviously she had something on her mind that she wanted to get out, "The whole room witnessed you flirting with Draco."
Hermione's eyes widened in embarrassment, "Oh is that his name? Uh, no. That was my first time talking to him and... well, sometimes I just kinda..." she toyed with her hair, "speak without thinking." She cleared her throat, "But no, that was not me flirting with him."
