Yep. Oh by the way Cassie? Check up at your friends request thing, near your notifications, Accept? Xx

I clicked the head of a light blue person with a red square and white one inside. I clicked. There was a notification for a marriage request from Jake. I smiled and clicked accept. I had only the notifications from the comments on my status, so I scrolled back down to my status. There was another comment, from Jake again. This time reading, ‘Baby girl, or should I say, my wife :) I just wanted to say... I kind of love you with all my heart and soul? Xx’

‘I Love you too,’ I typed, smiling as I pressed the keys. ‘I’m gonna go to bed now Jake and Skye, see you tomorrow’ I added.

I closed the laptop after hitting send and said goodnight to mum. She mumbled goodnight and I closed the door behind me. I threw on my pyjamas and kicked of my slippers. I climbed into bed, closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up with a call from mum, her voice sounded particularly happy. I scrunched up my eyes and blinked awake. The sun was shining through the curtains that were pulled behind me. I felt something light slide down my arm as I sat up. I picked up a page which was folded once and read in a whisper. It was a note of the writing I’ve seen before. The tidy curls of Jake’s handwriting.

It read: Cassie, I knew I’d die without seeing you for twenty-four hours, so your mum let me in this morning. I told her I’d just be a minute. I kissed you lightly on the cheek, just to have a little of my better half on my lips for the rest of the day. I laid this note, just to tell you I was here. And just to say I Love you and that you are the most beautiful girl on the face of this earth and I’m the luckiest thing in the world to have you as my wife J Just popping by pet, see you tonight beautiful x

-Jake, your husband<3

I smiled and folded the page and put it gently in my drawer, with all the other notes Jake had sent and wrote, including his ‘I Love you’ note.

I put on my dressing gown and slipped into my slippers. I walked into the kitchen where mum was waiting for me. Her back was turned when I came in but when I said good morning, she spun around with a sly grin and said good morning.

“What’s up with you?” I chuckled, pouring myself a bowl of corn flakes.

“Jake,” This one word was enough to send my cheeks to a pinkie-red colour.

“Yes?” I poured milk into my bowl and rubbed my hands on my cheeks to cool them down.

“You know what I’m talking about Cassie,” She grinned, as I set my bowl on the table. I grinned into it then she changed the subject, but not completely. “So we’re picking up Skye soon?”

“Yea,” I have to go get a shower and then we’ll go.

I ate up my corn flakes then went to get a shower. When I got out, I dried myself and I put on a red and white checked top and rolled the sleeves up. I put on pale jeans and let a few bangles roll down my wrist. I pushed my feet into my red converse and shoved my phone into my pocket.

I wrapped my hair in a towel and went out. I sat on my bed and dried my hair with my hair dryer. It was mostly dry so I pulled my brown hair with light-blonde highlights in a quick pony-tail, my fringe brushing over the side of my forehead.

I went into mum again and checked my phone, 10:32. Mum and I sorted out money, but she kept most of it in her purse, so I wouldn’t go and spend it all on ‘stupid stuff’. We got in the car and drove towards Skye’s house. I was picturing my perfect dress, making changes to it as we drove closer to Skye’s house.

My daze was interrupted when there was a crunch of stones as we drove into Skye’s driveway. I pushed the button to release my seatbelt and ran up to the door. I knocked and waited, excitedly. The door opened quick and there in front of me, was my beautiful best friend, Skye Cali.

“Cassie!” She screamed and hugged me as if she hadn’t seen me for years.

“Hey Skye,” I said, less excited, but she always was excited anyway.

“Ready?” She smiled.

“Yup,” Just as I said this, her mother came out.

“Hello Cassie,” Skye’s mum said, briefly looking up at me then back to her purse.

“Hello Mrs Cali,” I smiled.

“There you are,” She turned to Skye and handed her at least ten notes.

“Wow,” I said under my breath.

Skye had always been richer than us ever since dad left when I was born. He left some money but mum has a well paid job and we are well enough off. I’ve never met him because he left the day I was born. I hate him for this. But as my mum says, you can’t hate someone if you don’t know them.
