Chapter Thirteen
"Rachel Anne Jenkins, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Sam says on one knee, with a beautiful, yet simple princess cut diamond ring in hand. My heart is pounding in my chest, and suddenly I have become speechless. Sam’s face turns sad and I know my lack of response has hurt him, so I blurt out, “Yes!” Sam looks at me and smiles. “Yes, yes, yes.” I cry out. He slips the ring on to my trembling hand, pulls me to him, and kisses every inch of my face. His lips meet mine soon after and he kisses me like he has never kissed me before.
“I love you.” He whispers, resting his forehead on mine. “I love you so much, I was scared you would say no.” He kisses me again, and I wish we were married right now so I can show him how much I love him.
I look up into his eyes. “Why would I say no, Sam?” I rest my hand on his cheek. "I love you; I love you more than anything. And," I say pointing to my belly "do you see this stomach? If I didn't love you, I wouldn't be carrying our son."
Sam smiles and his mouth covers mine again. "Mhmm." I involuntary moan. "I love you." I whisper after he pulls his mouth away from mine.
"Love you more, Rachel Anne." I blush at the mention of my middle name. My mother named me Rachel Anne, Rachel after her mom, and Anne because that was her middle name. My heart clenches at the thought of my mom. She won't be able to see her grandson. I let out a small sob and Sam tightens his hold on me.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?"
I sigh and wipe my tears. "I miss my mom... She is probably dancing in heaven right now." I laugh. "She always wanted us to get married."
Sam laughs, and his dark brown hair hangs down in his face. "We aren't married yet."
I roll my eyes. "I know that." I look around the room and it dawns on me, how in the world did he do this? "How did you manage to get my living room like this?"
He tightens his hold on me. "Chloe did it." He says with a smile. Chloe is Sam's younger sister. Sam is the same age as me, and Chloe is twenty two. She is the opposite of Sam, she has long dirty blonde hair, and she has brown eyes when Sam has blue.
"How's she doing by the way, I haven't seen her since she was little." I ask. When Sam's parents divorced, he moved away with his mom and Chloe stayed with her dad.
Sam frowns. "Not good." He says grabbing my hand and moving us to the couch. "You know she gave up on God?"
"She did?" I lay my head on Sam's shoulder and sigh. "I'm sorry Sam. I know how much you love her."
The last time I saw Chloe she was very on fire for God. She loved Him very much from what I knew. "She is excited for us, told me over and over again how excited she is for us. Chloe said mom is excited too." That puzzles me.
"Did Chloe move back in with your mom?" As far as I know, Sam's dad, Mr. Collins is still living.
He breaths deeply. “Yeah, she did.” There something he isn’t telling me and it is eating me alive.
“What is it, Sam?” I ask him, while laying my head on his chest. “What happened?”
He tenses immediately, and I can feel his heart racing. “Sam. Honey, your heart is racing.” I tell him with my hand placed firmly on his chest. “Sam, you’re scaring me.”
He sits up and rests his head in his hands. “She screwed up, Rache, screwed up bad.” That is all he says on the matter for the rest of the night.

“Let me see, let me see!!!” Annabel yells when I walk into her hospital room the next day. I didn’t get to call her last night, because I was too busy trying to find out about Sam’s sister. Annabel has both twins her arms. Maggie and Kara are dressed in identical onesies and sleeping soundly.
