GREETINGS TO MR. BRUNO

     Greetings, Mr.Bruno
    Tall as a hectoring command
Sturdy as an oak tree bark
    You curious giant!
     With your drum like head
      and strident leaps,
      A brown pirate patch around
       those sleep deprived eyes,
       You manage your sixth sense.

        Dabbing those enormous
         paws in chocolate sludge
and covered in a coat of fur
         in the middle of monsoon
          showers.
        Bruno,  you heckle striped
         squirrels, chasing them all
          around boundary walls,
         Like a burly cop without
          uniform.
          A seeming seniority even
          for a toddler like him.
Not a care in the world for
           him.

Even as kids call him the big
    one,
   He minds his precocious tilt,
    alert and always the overseer,
Every wag of his tail stuffed
      with a new sound
      Every point of excitement
       settling on his ears.

       Greetings,Mr.Bruno,
for the way you stand over
       those tiny walls,
        tuck that tongue in.
       No other child of innocence
       can compete with your
        rituals.
        Self satisfied and full of
         pride, blessed by the lineage
         Saint Bernard tracing your
          line.
       Mr.Bruno, in these two years
your sights have seen dime a
        dozen.

       The gentle giant,
adoration fails to fit your title
     The most seemly live stuffed
       toy ever seen.
        Greetings to you,
         till I see you tomorrow.

# this poem is for the pet St. Bernard named Bruno ,who lives next door. I guess humans can hardly become a part of my horizon, not when such lively beings abound .
