Chapter 1

Demi's POV

Ring....Ring....Ring...

I flopped over an turn off the alarm. The first day of school. Great. I pull my self out of the safe haven and trudged to the bathroom to get ready for school. As I brush my teeth and get ready to step into the shower, I hear my brother and father arguing. Again. Oh great, one of those mornings. Dad and Bryan, my brother, never get along. Not since my dad forgot to go to his football game, like fifteen times, so he always hold it against him. Why? I will never know. I get dress in my light and flowery summer dress with my cream flats, grab my bag and head down stairs for breakfast.

"Good morning sweetheart," my mom sings "ready for your first day back to school"

"Yeah sure" I replied distracted because I was looking for food.

My mom is a beautiful woman with long honey blonde hair and forest green eyes. Unfortunely I got stuck with brown hair like my dad. While Bryan got my moms hair. Lucky.

When I settled down to eat, my brother came storming in soaking wet, causing me to choke on my eggs.

"What happen to you?" trying to keep the laughter out of my voice. And failed. Badly.

"It is not funny, Demi" Bryan growls " I was sleeping and Dad came in telling me to wake up. I said no, turn over contuied sleeping. Then he starts shout at me to 'get my lazy ass up'. "

At this point I am trying really hard not to laugh by biting on my fist. Mom lays a plate of food in front of him but he completely ignores it and countiues speaking.

"So anyway" he countiues " he eventually stop shouting at me and turn around to leave. So I'm there thinking 'thank god more sleep' then he walk with a bucket of ice cold water and dumps on me then walks out saying 'that should wake you up'"

That had me burst out laughing with my mother chuckling in the background.

"It not funny! I could get sick" he shouts

That just made me laugh more. Annoyed, that no one was giving him and sympathy, he stomped off, like a three year old having a temper tantrum.

Jake's POV

They chased me through the forest

"You can't get away from us, Jake" they screamed

I ran for my life. I can't let them get me. I can't fail. I could hear the blood pounding in my ears and my feet druming on the forest floor. I turn around and notice that I was running from no one.

"Where did you go?!" I yelled into the dark night.

"We're right here" I heard them replied

I spinned in around in search of the voice. Then something jumped onto my back, it felt like someone hit me with a giant paintball.

" GET OFF ME! GET OFF ME!" I screamed

" Don't fight us Jake, we're family" it sneered

" No we're not! GET OFF ME! GET OFF ME!"

Suddenly I felt someone shake the life out of me.

"Jake wake up, Jake!"

I jumped up and ran to the bathroom to throw up. When I was done, I felt my brother lay something, cold and wet, across my forehead.
