Luke and Anakin arrived at the Senate Tower almost immediately after they had left the Temple. Luke was pretty sure Anakin had broken at least several laws that day.
The two jumped out of the speeder and Anakin began to run toward the tower.
"Why is he running?" Muttered Luke to himself. "Why are we even here!?"
"Come on Luke! You have two feet and a heart beat so use em'!" Yelled Anakin who seemed miles ahead of poor Luke.
"I'm coming!" Came Luke's response back to Anakin, who was almost at the entrance of the building. "Using the Force to float rocks was heaven compared to this guy"
Soon Anakin reached the entrance of the tower. Luke made his way to were Anakin was as fast as he could. Which to Anakin, was not fast enough.
"What took you so long?"asked Anakin, who reached the steps in practically no time at all.
"I!...how...fast...were you...going!" Panted Luke out of breath.
"Not that fast. Come on, we're already late enough." Came Anakin's answer, who then began to walk into the building.
"Show off." Muttered Luke as he started to follow Anakin.
Only steps away from the entrance were Bail Organa, Chancellor Palpatine, and a several other senators. Anakin and Luke soon meet up with the chancellor and senators.
Chancellor Palpatine was the first to address Anakin.
"Ah, Anakin. We were wondering if you would show up. What caused you to be so late?" Questioned Palpatine with a fake fatherly tone.
Soon Palpatine noticed Luke and asked," And who do we have here? A new padawan learner of yours, perhaps?
"No Chancellor. This is Luke Starrunner, and he's here on important business, so to speak." Replied Anakin, who in turn gave a look to Luke, silently telling Luke he still didn't trust him. After all, Luke did just literally fall from the sky...
"Luke, what is this important business of yours?" Interrogated Palpatine with genuine interest.
"With all respect, I'm afraid I can't tell you, Chancellor." Answered Luke, beginning to realise who he was speaking to. The darkness was hard not to miss. If he saw it, why didn't Anakin?
"Ah. I understand. More Jedi Council business I'm not allowed to know of. But I'm sure your force shall take care of it or something to that effect." Said Palpatine with a dramatized disappointed tone.
"Anakin, I would like to talk to you about the start of your mission, but we will have to have that conversation another time. Your punctuality has never been the best, my boy." Stated Palpatine with a smirk that made Luke's skin crawl.
"Good day then, Chancellor." Bail and Anakin said followed by a formal bow.
And with that, the Chancellor left. Luke hoped to avoid Sidious for the rest of the trip.
Bail then asked,"Anakin, what was it that made you run so late? Something go wrong with your mission follow up?"
"No. Everything was fine. But Luke had just shown up and I had to bring him to the council. They decided to let gim stay with me until he has to leave." Replied Anakin with a hint of frustration.
"Luke, how long are you staying?" Asked Bail curiously.
"I suppose until my business is finished." Answered Luke. "I'm not completely sure, but I shouldn't be here to long."
Bail was satisfied with the answers and the conversation continued good naturedly.
The three walked slightly further while discussing Anakin and Obi Wan's mission.
