I love Joey

~Lexie's POV~
I wake up and this morning I decide to check my phone as usually I don't check it until school but today I have time.
I see I have a text from James!
James😇: hey, can you spend today with me?
Me: what about Joey?
James😇: he's popular. 
Me: oh. Then, sure I'll spend today with you!
James😇: thank you! See you in Math!
Me: yep bye.
Ugh, I didn't want to spend the day without Joey! I felt safe and more fun when I'm around him but there's parts of me that feel like James doesn't like Joey. 
I run downstairs and I grab my brothers toast off his plate and I quickly eat it up.
I run back upstairs and I get changed into a cute outfit (in media) and I grab my bag and soon enough I'm on my way!
I meet up with Joey on my way and we walk together.
"Joey, I'm spending the day with James." I say cheerfully.
"What about me?" Joey asks with a pouty face.
"Your popular! You have lots of people to go to!" I say with a giggle.
"Fine, enjoy your day." Joey says then runs off to school which is around the corner.
I sigh and continue to walk.
I see James in the hall way so I call out to him and he turns around.
"Wanna get going?" I ask.
"Erm, sure." He says with a smile.
We walk to math and it was all a blur.
I couldn't understand one bit of it!
My mind was set on how Joey reacted.
I didn't know I had zoned out until James shook me as the teacher was screaming at me.
"HOW DARE YOU IGNORE ME YOUNG LADY!!" She roars.
"Miss, I'd never-" she cut me off by pointing to the door.
"Get. Out." She says angrily.
I nod my head and I gulp.
She comes outside and tells me off more.
I'd never been told off before. Well, I have but not like that.
When I came back in the room words were thrown at me. They really hurt.
'Stupid'
'Idiot'
'Deaf'
'Retard'
Am I a retard?
Am I a stupid?
Am I an idiot?
I know for certain that I'm not deaf! I just zone out.
But, it took me a while to realise that I was crying.
I used to be strong but know I've moved to this place I've become weak!
In second class, I ask to go to the restroom but what I see makes me even more upset.
Joey, he's in a state.
His nose is busted and he's got bruises everywhere and he's sitting outside the principles office.
"Joey! Oh my god! Are you okay?" I ask frantically.
"I'm fine." He says grumpily.
"What happened?" I ask concerned.
"I was taking to Zoe (the popular one) and her boyfriend beat me up." He says with a shrug.
I seems like he doesn't care that it happened.
"Tayler told him off for me though. He told the teachers." Joey says.
"Awh. I'm sorry Joey." I say sadly.
"It's okay. Can I have a hug though?" Joey asks.
I sit beside him and I give him a long, gentle hug but as we were hugging a guy with his fists clenched came out the office.
"WELL, IF YOU HAVE A GIRL, WHY TRY TAKE MINE?!" He yells in our faces as we walk past.
I spend the whole day with Joey and James. I try to make them get along.
Most of the time it worked, others not.
~end of the day~
I walked home with Joey and we soon parted to go to our houses.
I did my homework and so did Joey and soon we were talking like the previous days.
We talked for hours. Well, that's what it felt like. I texted James while talking to Joey so he didn't feel left out or anything.
I have finally made up my mind.
I love Joey.
