It's been two weeks since Lydia Martin walked into the classroom and changed Stiles' life. Although he hasn't spoken a word to her and she hasn't spoken one to him. They exchange glances daily though, quick ones that nobody but them notices.

Stiles has observed a few things about her in the time being of just silently watching from afar. Like how when she smiles her eyes wrinkle in the most perfect way. Don't even get him started on the color of her eyes. They remind him of the forest he goes to whenever life gets just a bit too much. The forest that has thousands of trees and the greenest grass he's ever seen.

If he could just work up the courage to say one word to her everything would be great right now. Their secret glances are driving him up the wall. He's heard her voice from when the teachers ask her questions and it's the kind of appealing voice that you just constantly want to hear more of.

"Excuse me?" Stiles looks around to find the voice coming from the girl he was just thinking about, she looks offended, holding a book in her hand.

"Um hi?" He chokes out nervously closing the book he was reading before he started daydreaming.

"I said, before you rudely ignored me, do you want to study together? You looked lonely and I wasn't feeling the best all alone over in the uncomfortable library chairs." Stiles opened his mouth to respond but she kept going. "Plus it's study hall and we have that test on Monday. So yeah, wow I'm ranting I'm so sorry."

Lydia bites at her nails and sinks to the floor next to him. Stiles is taken aback at the fondness and how real this girl is. She pulled her hair back in a messy bun quickly and glanced over at him, sending a quick smile his way.

"You know biting your nails is a horrible habit, Lydia. I bit my nails a lot after my mom passed and they looked like complete shit for years because of it." Sympathy spread across the girls' features quickly after what he said. Stiles cursed to himself for saying something so personal the first time he talked to her.

"I'm so sorry, how long ago did she..?" Lydia wraps her earbuds around her phone and stuffs it in her purse so she can put her full attention towards him.

"It's okay, it was a long time ago. Well not that long ago but long enough to where talking about it doesn't hurt really anymore." He pauses and runs his hand through his scruffy hair. "I'm sorry I told you that so quickly, you probably don't even know my name, huh?"

The strawberry blonde girl shook her head and her lips tugged at the sides a bit. He noticed how her legs were crossed and she had full interest in listening to him talk. That means a lot to Stiles considering people usually just roll their eyes and tell him to go away. He was always the annoying kid in their class, the class clown. In all reality though he just wants to be taken serious from now on. At least most of the time he does.

"My name is Stiles Stilinski." He puts out his hand and she hesitantly shakes it, her hand could literally fit in the palm of his.  "No that's not my real name, it's a nickname. Well Stilinski is my real last name obviously but-"

"I gotcha Stiles."
