CH. 2 A SURPRISE
"So, Megan," Mom said. "I thought it would be a good thing for you to visit you're dad."
"Woah! WHAT? But I haven't seen him in seven years! He might of changed! He could be mean now!" I yelled.
"Megan! calm down. I know it sounds like a lot of pressure, but he really wants to see you. And trust me. he hasn't changed a bit."
I played with my nasty peas that were on my dinner plate. How could she just put that on me so quickly. I felt like I was going to cry.
"Why are you so upset about this?" Mom asked.
"Well, I want to see dad and all, but what about my horses. I Can't leave them."
"I will be here! I can take extra care of them."
"But mom! they won't be used to you! And I always sing to them EVERY day."
Yes. Its true. I sing to my horses. It might sound weird, but it actually calms them down. I usually like to sing country songs to them. I know I don't sound well in I sing, but they seem to enjoy it.
"They will be fine Megan. You are going to visit you're dad and that's it!"
"But mom! I-"
"No buts! now finish you're dinner and go to bed." Mom interrupted.
"okay... can I ask something?"
"Yes?"
"how long do I have to stay with dad?"
"Six months."
"oh."
REALLY???? Six MONTHS! What is she thinking! I can't live without pepper, or flicker, or Mollie, or sandy, or Annie! I just wanted to scream and yell at her, but I didn't, because I would probably get grounded. Just by the look on her face, I could tell she was not in a good mood. I decided just to shut up for the rest of dinner.
