CH. 3
"Pepper, what am I going to do?" I asked stroking his back.
He gave me a look that almost looked sympathetic like he understood me.
"I'm just going to miss you so much. Do you want to here a song?"
Pepper whinnied as if he were saying yes.
"Dry lightning cracks across the skies
Those storm clouds gather in her eyes
Her daddy was a mean old mister
Mama was an angel in the ground
The weather man called for a twister
She prayed blow it down" I sang.
Pepper loved that song. ( Blown away by Carrie Underwood.) He was chewing. That meant he was calm and content. That is a wonderful feeling. To know that he actually cares. In the second stall, there was Mollie. Mollie is one of my ponies. We never really knew what breed she was, but she was a beautiful dark tan color with an ivory mane and tail. In the third stall was Sandy. Sandy is also a pony. She is the same color of Mollie. She was a rescue when we got her. She is afraid of so many things because she was abused. It hurts me to think of abusing these poor helpless creatures. In the fourth stall, there was Annie. Annie is a black saddlebred. She is a full horse, with no trace of pony in her blood. Then last but not least, was Flicker. When we brought home Pepper, Flicker had to come too. They were brother and sister, so it would be kind of hard to separate them. Flicker is also an Appaloosa like Pepper.
"I'm just going to miss you guys so much."
They all gave me this look that just made my heart sink. How could I leave them. They are pretty much all my friends. Except my friend I have in school. Quenn. Quenn and I have been best friends since preschool. We know all of each others secrets! I just remembered. I have to leave her too. Just how can I do this?
