The sound of someone humming filled the quiet atmosphere. "It's such a nice day, it can't be wasted staying inside. Life is too short ." A woman's silky voice murmured. She walked around wearing a gown that showed that she was well off. She dressed with a pink gown that showed nothing more that her collarbone and a small view of her breasts. She had blonde hair that reflected gold when the sun shined on it.
Brown eyes that had a fierce tint to it and held kindness and warmth. She could be described as an angel. The blonde woman walked with grace and elegance. Any man would be charmed by her beauty and her posture. The lady walked around with an air of happiness. She smiled at the beautiful lilies that had been planted by she and her three-year old daughter.
She continued to walk around but stopped when she noticed something flinging amongst the red batch of lilies in the left side. She made her way through the flowers trying not to step on any of them and making any sort of destruction. She finally saw what was glinting. It was a key! It wasn't just any key, it was a platinum key. She couldn't identify it. There was nothing like a platinum key in Earthland.
She picked the unknown key and placed it in her hands. She studied the key more carefully. It was like a safe key, with a dragon wrapped around the shaft and the bit looking like a cutting edge. She measured the key with a frown. Looking at it, there was not even a single clue that could come into her head about what constellation it represented. She pocketed it in the layers of cloth in her gown.
She could think about it later. Right now, was her free time. She knew she would not get to come outside again, with Jude constantly worrying about her. She hadn't much time left. She resumed her trek around her garden.
"Lady Layla! Your husband is calling for you!" She turned her head towards where the voice came from, she found a maid rushing towards her.
The maid stopped in front of her and bowed. "Ma'am, sorry for interrupting but Master Jude insists on your presence." Layla frowned. Her husband was asking for her? She couldn't understand it.
"Please rise your head," She spoke."Did he say why?" Perhaps she could ignore his audience for awhile. "No, but he said to say it was urgent."
Layla sighed. "You are dismissed." She walked with an air of confidence. Her time outside may be cut short but she would find another way to get out of the mansion, maybe she might bring Lucy outside next time.
Once she was inside, she immediately noticed the change in the atmosphere. "Mama!!" She was met with Lucy's exclamation of joy. Layla smiled widely. Her joy, her Lucy was running to her. "Lucy!" With a giggle, the small girl stretched her arms out to her mother, silently asking her to pick her up.
Layla instantly reached down and lifted her daughter happily. The happiness however was broken when a tall figure entered the room with an air of authority. "Papa!" Lucy yelled out. She tried to wiggle out of her mother's hold, wanting to hug her father. Her father smiled, feeling proud.
"Hello, dear." He greeted his wife. Layla slowly put Lucy down. "Hello. Lucy how about you go to your room? I will come to see you in a bit." The small girl, having no idea of the now tense air grinned happily and rushed up the stairs to her room.
"Why did you call for my presence, Jude?", Layla questioned.
"Can't I see my beloved wife?" Jude replied. She scoffed. "Is there anything concerning Lucy that you wanted to consult me about?"
"Yes actually, I was thinking of making Lucy start her home-schooling soon. Don't you think so too?" Layla smiled tightly. It was quite clear that she didn't like the idea.
"How many times do we have to argue over this? I don't want Lucy to start getting serious at this age. You are taking over her life forcefully!" Layla shouted agitatedly. Jude's smile was wiped away instantly. "I have had enough with you trying to disagree with every single plan I have for my daughter! If she doesn't mature soon, she will become like those village children!"
Layla's patience snapped. "Don't call them that! They're still children! She is still a child. With time she will mature."
Jude scoffed. "And if she doesn't?" He stared at her. "You don't understand, do you? I want my daughter to be the perfect human being."
Layla sighed. This wasn't the best way to talk at all. "Okay honey, I agree with you only if you make her start next four years from now." For a second it seemed Jude was going to disagree but he nodded. He walked towards her and hugged her. "I am sorry for shouting at you, my love. Forgive me?"
A smile tugged at her lips. "Only if you play with Lucy and I." She smirked. Jude frowned. "I'm sorry but that would've to hold on a bit. I have work to do." He moved away from her and headed towards his office. Once he was out of earshot, she murmured,"You've changed, Jude. Now work is your first priority."
Slowly, tears slid down her face. She wiped them hastily. "No, I have to be strong for my family. This is when they need me the most." She hiked her skirts up and treaded to her daughter's bedroom. Without any warning she opens the door and found her daughter reading a book. She smiled proudly when she found what book it was. Her sweet daughter was trying to read Snuggle Puppy, the book she read for her last night.
"How's my favourite person in the world?" She tackled her. The child's shriek of laughter resonated throughout the room. "Mama! Don't scare me!"

After putting Lucy to bed, Layla had to admit she was pretty tired. As she unzipped the gown, she remembered the strange key she found earlier in the garden. She placed her hand where it was and soon felt its cool touch.
She took her time once again and watched the key with abstruse eyes. There was something about the newly found key that made her want to find out about it. Layla thought really hard. It was midnight and she was already drained. Jude might suspect her not being in bed even though he probably wasn't going to bed as well. Suddenly, a thought struck her. Maybe this could be the gate of the dragon? She wondered.
Taking a deep breath she shouted out quietly,"Open, Gate of the Dragon!" She hoped that without the being's name it would work. There was a bright flash of light and she had to close her eyes. When it died down, she opened them. She couldn't believe her eyes!
Right in front of her was a figure that would reach no further than her waist. He was exceptionally short compared to her other spirits, with messy blond hair and a pair of emerald green eyes. He was wearing an ordinary, clean white button-front shirt and a black sleeveless vest on top with a loosely worn tie. His sword's scabbard is held on by a green leather belt with gold-colored buckles. Without any socks, he wore a pair of black boots.
He stared straight at her with curiosity. "Who are you?" His hand rested on his sword handle. "I am your new friend, I don't consider my spirits as objects rather friends." He seemed confused by all that she said. "Spirits? Where am I? I can't sense Ban, Diane, Gowther, King or Merlin." Layla frowned at this, a spirit who didn't know where they were? This was the first time she came across something like this.
"This is Earthland. My name is Layla Heartfilia and I am a celestial mage. I summon spirits with my power. Who are those people?" He looked at her in confusion.
"What are celestial mages?"
This was going to take a lot of time.
