After explaining to her new spirit the concept of celestial mages and magic, he just stared blankly at her.
"So you have the power to summon people from other realms using keys?" At her nod, he continued.
"Using magic and this place is called Earthland. I am currently in your estate, the Heartfilia Estate, I see. So what do your spirits do for you? Do you whip them or something as punishment?" He asked further.
Layla flushed, whether in anger or embarrassment, she didn't know. How could he ask her a question like that? "First of all, I would never do something like that to any of my spirits! I am not as heartless as the other stellar mages! I treat my spirits with respect and love them just as I love my family! My spirits fight or aid me in anything whenever I need them!" Layla huffed slightly from her short speech.
"So technically, they are your servants? I'm not in the least bit happy about that. There's no way I will associate myself with you," the spirit said in a nonchalant tone. Layla was ready to snap this moment, but she steeled herself. "I respect my spirits at all costs. Whenever they need breaks, I allow them. I do not use them as shields. Please don't go ahead and assume absurd things." Layla finished with scowl.
The spirit looked -if only for a little bit- surprised. However, he quickly regained his composure. The top parts of his lips lifted.
"Dragon's Sin, Meliodas. It's nice to meet you, Layla," he introduced. Layla recoiled. She didn't know if it was because it was late or because of the day's activities but she was getting tired.
It seemed Meliodas noticed her distress. "I suggest you get some sleep, maybe we can continue this tomorrow. You look tired." Layla couldn't help but agree. She stared at him as if waiting expectantly for something.
Meliodas soon realized that she was waiting for him to disappear. "I don't know how to leave." Layla couldn't believe this. How was she supposed to deal with this? Before she could get up, he stopped her. "Don't worry yourself." He guessed he could go somewhere else. After all this house seemed pretty big. "I will see you in the morning." Layla frowned, but she gave in and settled down on her bed. Soon she was sound asleep. Meliodas sighed, where to go to now?
He was lost in his thoughts until he heard the sound of footsteps and from the sound it was a large person. He quickly moved to one of the cardboards in the room and camouflaged himself really well. The door opened and he saw a man who looked well into his early forties enter the room. The man sighed as he saw Layla asleep. Realizing that this man could possibly be Layla's husband and he might be intruding on their privacy he covered his eyes, knowing fully well that he couldn't leave.
A little bit later, Meliodas found himself outside the house in what he supposed was the garden. As he glanced around the beautiful flower field, he couldn't help but remember Elizabeth. What if he was stuck in this world? That would definitely be bad news. However, if something like that ever happened, he would try very hard to get back.
"What am I going to do for this woman though?" Meliodas spoke out loud.
"We'll just have to see then." He walked around the garden not looking for anything specifically.
"Who are you?" He turned his head towards voice. It was a small girl who was poking her head out of one of the many windows in the house.
He smiled kindly at her. "Don't mind me, go back to sleep." The little girl frowned at him, her chocolate brown eyes looked at him with such intensity that Meliodas was surprised that she looked like a little girl not any older than three years.
"Lucy can't sweep! Lucy don't want to worry momma. She tired." The little girl pouted at him.
Meliodas resisted the urge to face palm. "Then, how about you just lie down and close your eyes?"
"Lucy don't want to go to sweep! Lucy want to watch the stars!" Meliodas frowned at her.
"Now, now. I'll be on my way then." He started to walk and just then, the girl-whom he supposed was called Lucy- began to call for him.
He ignored her and continued his trek through the large garden.
He was interrupted though when he heard the squeal from where he had left the girl. Was something wrong? He thought to himself.
"Mister!!! Hewlp me!" He heard the loud shout of the girl. He turned his head to see that she was falling. He was about twelve meters away from her.He rushed towards her and just as she was about to fall he disappeared from where he was and appeared right underneath her.
He held his arms out in a bridal style. The little girl fell into his arms safe and sound. She gazed at him with a complete look of awe.
"You sawed Lucy! You're Lucy Priwnce Chwarming!" She squealed.
Meliodas wasn't sure by what she meant but what he knew was that this child definitely had too much sugar in her system. He looked at her face, then her body checking for any injuries of the sort.
He heard noises coming from the house. "Lucy-sama! Where are you?" Meliodas gazed at the girl, was she some sort of important figure?
He noticed that her eyes had began to close and soon she was asleep. He huffed. "Sheesh, don't act so excited to speak with me then fall asleep."
He glanced up at Lucy's room. He leaped up the mansion, keeping his eyes focused on the room. Once he was perched on the window sill with Lucy safe in his arms, Meliodas entered her room thus stepping on her bed.
"Honestly, why keep her bed so close to the window?" He mumbled. "Humans...." He shook his head.
He laid her down and covered her with her pink blanket and made sure she was more comfortable before making his way towards her window once more.
Meliodas was ready to jump off when a voice spoke out. "Who are you and where did you take Lucy-sama to?"
He paid the female voice no mind and jumped down. He heard the loud scream and grinned.

"You say that a boy looking no older than the age of thirteen jumped of the window?" I heard the voice of my mother ask Ms. Spetto.
A boy no older than thirteen? Wasn't that the boy I saw yesterday?
