"Electra? Electra?! Wake up!"

Oh god, had I fallen asleep again? But seriously, I was human I needed the sleep, he is a freaking vampire. He doesnt even need to sleep! That would actually be really good, to never have to sleep. You could be awake all day and still not be tired.

"Electra!"

"Shut up will you" I yelled out "Human trying to rest here"

"Electra, you have to wake up. You've been asleep for almost a whole day"

A whole day?!

"What?!" I instantly stood up and shook my head trying to fully wake up.

"Yeah" said Tristan "a whole day. Aren't you like hungry or something?"

"Now that you've mentioned it, I am"

"Here". Tristan threw me my back pack. I caught it and was extremely relieved to see that there was food left because ,I swear, I could eat a whole elephant right now.

"So have you found any sign of my parents yet?" I asked with my mouth full of food.

"Unfortunately, no I havent, I'm still following their trail" he said "I think the royals chased them for a long time. The scent just seems to keep going on and on.

"Oh" I said, slowing down on the chewing a little bit. I remembered what I was thinking before. "Traistan, you are so lucky, you never have to sleep. it must be an amazing feeling never having to sleep and be tired"

"Well, its not as good as it sounds. You don't see me tired on the outside, but on the inside, I am very tired. Sometimes, I just wish that I could lay down and go to sleep and not care about anything in the world.  I am mentally tired. Wow. That makes me sound like I have some mental problem"

"Ha! Anyone would think you have a mental problem if you told them about the whole vampire thing. I mean for them, vampires only exist in stories and movies" I continued.

"You didn't think I was mental" he said

"I might have but never told you"

"So? Did you?"

"Well, it was kinda hard to believe. I mean seriously, a vampire! They only ever existed in stories to me until then. But I didn't really have any idea how I was going to find my parents before you showed up. I mean sure, I listened to a stranger, but if you killed me or something, then I would die knowing that I tried. But thats not what happened. You didn't turn out to be a serial killer, you were something even more terrifying. I guess terrifying things eventually become your friend. So all I'm saying is you are an amazing person and no, I do not think you are mental"

"Well, I'm glad you don't think I'm some patient who's escaped from a mental hospital" he said with a small smile "And perfect" he mentioned, the cocky grin appearing again.

"Well, have you ever looked at yourself. Wait I dont know if you can. Is the whole 'you cant see the reflection of a vampire' thing true?"

"No, its actually not true. Humans just made that up a long time ago so that everone was even more aware of us. And so the answer to your first question would be, yes,I have seen my self. Just so you know, this whole thing" he pointed to himself "was not what I looked like before I was changed. Into a vampire, not clothes"

"Really? So what did you look like?"

"You know what, I'll show you"

He took out a smallest photo album from his pocket. It was the size of a large match box. He opened the first page. I saw a person who looked a lot like Tristan but in old clothes. Wait that looked exactly like Tristan.

"That looks exactly like you" I told him

"thats probably because the photo is in black and white. Before I was changed. My skin wasn't as pale as it is now and I wasn't exactly this flawless. I didn't have amber eyes, my eyes were the brightest eletcric blue"

"Ohh. So you did look different"

I continued chewing but something shimmery in the bushes behind Tristan caught my attention.

Shimmers?. Hmmm... that reminded me of something. I froze. I saw Tristan shimmer in the sun. That could only mean one thing. There was another vampire around.

"Tristan. T..."

"Shhhh" he cut me off.

I think he saw it. Wait how would he be able to see it? It was behind him.

What happened next was really quick. Tristan lifted me onto his back and was running in less than a second. I'd left my bag of food in such a hurry, I knew I'd regret that.

I'm pretty sure we were running away from the vampire at the moment, but I'm not sure.

Suddenly, all the trees and bushes were gone. In front of us, all I could see was the blue ocean and before that, the end of a cliff.

"Take a deep breath and hold on tight" Tristan yelled as we got closer to the end of the cliff.

"Why"

"Now!" he yelled.

I did what he said and before I knew it, we were falling of the cliff and towards the water. I had a huge urge of screaming but held it back, keeping in mind what Tristan had said.

We hit the surface with a huge splash, and soon we were fully underwater with cold water surrounding us. I have no idea what Tristan is doing, but I have to trust him. Tristan started to swim. He swam so fast, the salty water was starting to hurt my eyes, so I closed them and just concentrated on holding Tristan tight.

I am starting to run out of breath. I have no idea how to tell Tristan so I just squeesed his neck hoping he would understand. He didn't. He didn't swim up to the surface of the ocean, he just kept swimming. All I noticed was that he was starteing to swim faster. I really couldnt take it anymore, i needed to breathe. I breathed heavily, but all that entered my lungs was water. I was starting to feel pain. It hurt. It hurt reall bad. just as i was about to pass out, I saw us swimming to the surface.

Just as we reached the surface, my eyes shut.
