Magolor was evil probably because he was corrupted by the power of the Master Crown, especially when he was in his soul form (see above). The description for said form literally reads: A sad shell possessed by the limitless power of the Master Crown, no more than a manifestation of the crown itself. However, since then, he seems to be on much friendlier terms with Kirby,even building him an entire theme park in Kirby: 20th Anniversary Dream Collection.
P.S.- Magolor Soul's theme, C.R.O.W.N.E.D, is SO AWESOME!!! Definitely my favorite Kirby soundtrack. I'll put it up there with the picture so you can experience the epicness firsthand.
