Chapter 10

Nene

"Kyla!" I yelled. We were going to a resteraunt to eat and it was taking her forever to get dressed.
I'm coming! She yelled from the back. She came out with her purse dangling from her wrist and her shoes. I shook my head, I swear it takes her forever to get dressed.
We walked out the door and I got in the car as Kyla locked the house up. When she finally got in she begin putting on her shoes as I backed out of the drive way leaving the apartment complex. "Have you talked to Sean lately?, you barely talk about him anymore" I asked. She nodded her head yes and I smiled. "Sooo do you like him?" I asked. She said yes and I hit playfully hit her. "What's wrong? You seem down" I asked her. She looked out of the window and I could see there was something bothering her.
I don't know anymore Nene, I mean I'm trying my best to get myself together and now D-Lo wants me to fucking baby sit a new girl that just came in. She said.
"Well why won't you tell him you don't have the time to?" I asked glancing at her then back at the road.
I did but as usual he was being an ass. She said.
"Well Ky if anything I have been knowing you since we were jits. You can do it. Its not like he's asking you to raise her hunn. But that's small and i know that's not what's really bothering you so speak up." I tell her as I stopped at a red light.

She sighed. Nene all my life I have held everything in. I laugh and smile and try to keep it together but sometimes I don't even feel like trying anymore. School is kicking my ass and the work is easy its just that its so much work at once and on top of that I barely sleep cause once I come home from work I'm jumping straight to the books. I know my job isn't the best and I don't make it out to be. I just don't want to loose myself doing it. She said with tears coming out her eyes.

"Well your job doesnt define who you really are Ky. I don't down you because I know that you will make it. Regardless about what the next bitch say about you, they don't really know you! Your beautiful, talented, smart, and you doing what you can to keep your shit together! Things may not seem like their going good right now but once you succeed at what your trying to do, all that shit doesn't matter!" I said.

She wiped her tears and smiled. Thank you best friend I love you so much! She tells me.

We pulled up to the new restaurant that just opened called Philly's. I found a parking spot and cut my car off as me and Ky got out.

We walked inside and got in line. It was very nice and was packed with people. Once we got to the cashier she told us how much it would be to eat here and we paid her and waited for someone to escort us to our table.

A man came and showed us a table to sit at and we followed behind him.
We thanked him as we took our seats and begin looking at the menu's that were layed out on the table.

"Ooh Ky this steak and salad meal looks good" I pointed out. She showed me the meal that she was going to get and it was rice and gravy with barbecue ribs and a side of any choice.

The waiter came over and asked us what we would like to eat and drink. We told her and she wrote it all down on the note pad she was holding in her hands and smiled before walking away.

As we waited Ky got up and said she had to use the restroom and for me to get her food if it got here before she came back. I nodded and she walked away.

I pulled out my phone and scrolled down my Facebook timeline where I saw some girls I use to go to school with arguing about something. I hated how people put their business out for the whole world to see. It just erked my nerves.

Feeling someone tap my shoulder I looked up and saw a little girl with curly hair and blue eyes. She was so beautiful. "My daddy said dat you were a cutie and told me to cum and tap you." She said as she smiled showing her deep dimples.

Well who is your dad cutie pie? I asked smiling down at her and she pointed across the restaurant at Loyalty. I smirked at him and begin walking over.

Once he hot to my table he picked the little girl up and gave her a high five and she giggled. "She's so beautiful" I told him. He smiled yes this is my little Minnie me, he said.
"Are you here alone? He asked. I shook my head no pointing towards Kyla who was just walking back from the bathroom. "I'm here with my friend." I tell him.

Kyla came to the table and sat down. "I go to the restroom for a slight second and come back and you already done found someone to steal your attention" she said as she looked up at Loyalty.

I laughed. This girl is so embarrassing. "Loyalty this is my friend Kyla, and Kyla this is Loyalty and his daughter Cherish." I introduced them. Cherish smiled at Kyla and wiggled around for Loyalty to pur her down. He put her down and she walked over to Kyla giving her a hug. "Me and yew are da same color." She said causing us all to laugh. "Yes girl, you know light skins winning don't you beautiful" Kyla said causing us to laugh again.

So how long ate you going to be here? Loyalty asked while looking down at me. He was so tall and fine and his dreds were twisted neatly as the hung down his back. "Umm we actually just got here and are waiting on our food that should have been here by now" I said realizing the waitress wasn't back yet.

"Well me and Cherry are going to eat and then later I'm taking her back to her moms and I'll be free. You up for going out somewhere?" He asked.

I looked over at Kyla as her and Cherish were talking about something. "Umm I don't see why not just text me and let me know." I told him.

He said OK and told Cherish to come on. Me and Kyla said goodbye as the walked away.

"I like him" Ky said with a smirk on her face. I shook my head at her as I felt myself about to start blushing.

She laughed at me. "Girl why you ain't tell me he was that damn fine. And his daughter is so sweet and cute." She said.

Just as I was about to say something the waiter came back with our food on a tray and placed it in front of us. "Sorry it took so long, we are very busy today" she said.
Its OK, Kyla said. "Anything else you guys need?" She asked. We shook our heads no and she told us to enjoy our food with a smile and walked away.

I unraveled my fork and tasted the steak that was on my plate. This shit is good Kyla said. "This is too. We should come here more often." I tell her.

After we ate we left a tip for the waitress and walked out of the restaurant. "You have to work today?" I asked Kyla. She said no and told me to go to the hair store.

I said OK and we got in the car and drove there. I pulled up to the door and Kyla got out and told me she would be back out in a few.

I turned off my car and waited for her to come out. After about 10 minutes she came out with a black bag with hair inside and other things.

"What type of hair you got?" I asked her. She pulled out the hair and showed me. It was some braiding hair. "I'm ganna put some plats in when I take this hair out." She tells me. I nodded my head and continued to drive.

After riding around different places we finally pulled up to our house.

I was full and sleepy. We walked inside and I went into my room and put my phone on the charger. It died on the way here.

"Nene I'm finna go to the store cause I forgot something. You need anything?" Kyla asked. I said no and took my shirt off so I could get in the shower.

I just wanted to lay down. That sun had wore m out. I got in the shower and washed my body with some of my body wash I had gotten from bath & body works. After rinsing off I turned the shower off and dried off with my towel.

I put on my clothes and layed down on my bed and turned on my TV seeing that I was just in time for the show I wanted to watch.

Loyalty text me and told me that something came up business wise and wouldn't be able to come, but he would make it up to me tomorrow.

I text him back OK with a sad face and he sent me a kissy face and q broken heart emoji making me laugh. He was so full of it.

I really think I might actually like him, and his daughter was so adorable and such a sweetie pie.
I placed my phone next to me on the bed and grabbed my big pink teddy bear. I loved this thing, it was so big and fuzzy. I got comfortable and continued looking at the show.
