Do you smell regret?

I pull away quickly.

"I'm so sorry Charles" I exclaim, "I don't know what came over me" I quickly scurried out of my room, and went into the kitchen. I went in the fridge to get the milk and the cupboard to get the milkshake flavouring, chocolate of course.

"How come you're up so late?" Erik questions me.

"I...I just.. I was just thirsty, so I came and got a drink silly" I laughed, trying to change conversation.

"Okay then, how's your control over your mutations going?"

"Fine thanks, just a little mending here and there"

"I'm off to bed, get some rest Anna!" Erik walks past, but not without kissing my forehead. I smile, I think of Erik as an overprotective brother... He's feels like family that I once had.. After drinking my drink and putting my glass in the sink, I saunter up to my room thinking of Charles as this was the last place I left him. I truly hope he doesn't hate me, with the thoughts of Charles I drift off to sleep.

Morning

I was the first one up, so I showed, shaved (cause I like stroking my smooth legs, don't judge) and got dressed into tight black fitting joggers and white lose v-neck top and my sports bra.

I made my way down the stairs and decided to make pancakes, bacon and eggs. So I start to mix my ingredients, making a plain pancake mix, a chocolate chip mix; a blueberry mix. As the pancakes are done and the bacon; eggs are ready, Sean and Alex are the first ones down. Followed by Raven, then Darwin and lastly Erik and Charles.

"Mhm, my god this smells delicious" Seam comments, his mouth watering at the sight of food.

"You're welcome Ginge" As I say this Sean glares whilst others chuckle.

"This is truly wonderful, thank you Anna!" Erik compliments.

After everyone is finished, I wash up not wanting there to be a mess.

"So, today I'll be helping Alex and Anna in controlling your mutations, Hank if you want to practice running, Erik if you want to start off slowly and work up controlling bigger selections of metal. Raven and Darwin, you are free to use the gym as you have mastered your mutations." Charles explained, as he is the leader of our group of misfits.

I nod my head along with everybody else. I smile at Raven when I pass her but she grabs my arm and pulls me back into the abandoned kitchen.

"What happened?" She questions immediately.

"What do you mean what happened, Ray?" I'm so confused at what she's asking me.

"Between you and my brother!!" She says with a glint in her eye.

"Nothing is going on?"

She slaps me arm "Something is defiantly going on! I can tell, I mean you and Charles were really awkward and everyone could tell" She gasps out all in one breath.

"ANNA!" Alex shouts trying to get my attention.

"We'll talk about this later, A!" Raven goes off to do her own thing.

"IM COMING" I shout back as I run towards them, I jump on Alex's back "Carry me you peasant" and giggle as he obeys me. I flick my eyes towards Charles and I swear on my soul I saw jealousy...

Time skip

By now it's lunch time and I'm going to be training on my own, I NEED THEM MUSCLES. I go to the punching bag after a 30 min run and an hour on the bike. I have flashbacks of when I was only a young girl, how Shaw made me feel. I get angrier and start pounding at the bag.

"ANNA, ANNA STOP!!" I hear someone scream at me but I don't listen. I feel someone wrap their arms around my waist and hug me close, I break down in tears for the first time in 6 years.
