Chapter 2~

"Where are you going?" the taxi driver said in a raspy voice.

"The city airport," I replied.

He nodded his head as the taxi sped away.

******

"SIR, WE’RE HERE!"

The taxi stopped with a screeching halt. I jolted forwards and hit my head on the back of the front of the seat.

"Dammit!" I put my hand to my head and rubbed it slowly.

"That will be $99.98, sir," the taxi driver said with a little sarcasm.

"What? Why so much?" I said.

"I've got mouths to feed," he said nonchalant.

"Whatever". I rolled my eyes and I pulled out a crisp hundred-dollar bill out of my black leather wallet and handed it to the driver.

"Keep the change," I said in a very sarcastic attitude.

I got up out of the taxi and slammed the door, grabbed my bags out of the trunk and started walking to the main entrance of the airport. Exactly when I walked into the airport, I heard a gun go off. I instantly knew that they were coming for me.

I dropped off my bags with the airport security guard who gave me a nod of approval, knowing who I was and who I worked for. I started running. Running for my life, to be exact. Screams were heard everywhere in the airport as more shots were being fired. People were everywhere scrambling to find somewhere safe, but the thing is, nowhere was safe. I finally got to my destination on the edge of the airport, the elevator. I frantically pressed the up button until the two-glass door opened. I heard another gun shot as glass doors closed.

I pushed the button to the 16th level (security management) hoping that I could get some help.

"3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8," I quietly mumbled to myself as I went up a floor.

"9, 10, 11, 12," then the elevator stopped with an alarming halt. My eyes widened. “No...no...no...help someone, help me!" I screamed pounding on the glass doors.

About thirty seconds later, a man with a black suit with a red tie came over

and tried prying the doors open. He almost succeeded but a gunshot pounded in my ears.

The man was face first on the elevator doors coughing up blood all over the glass doors, smearing it as he tumbled to the ground. I gasped. Who shot him? I though to my self. Never-mind that, are they coming for me? There was no time to think more about it, I had to get out I looked all around me, no. I then looked up seeing a small hatch on the top of the elevator reading, "Elevator Escape".

"Good enough for me". I said aloud as I jumped up and grabbed on to the small bar, that I pulled myself up to. I punched the door and the wood broke in half (ten years worth of karate really pays off). I pulled the rest of my body up into the outside of the elevator. I looked around, it was dark the only light was coming from a light bulb a few floors up. I searched the wall for a ladder or something.

When I reached the 16th floor, I pried open the elevator door only to see that I stepped into a bloodbath. Blood was everywhere, on the floor, on the walls, and even on the ceiling. I stood there in horror. "What kind of monster would...Do this?" someone said behind me in a sinister and mocking tone.
