Chapter 5~
After the explosion, I looked up and glass was everywhere. Thoughts were flying though my head, but there was no time to think. I shoved all my stuff in a bag, and got the hell out of the room. I ran down the stairs to the main lobby, but just my luck the entrance was on fire. The only way out was a small broken window. Good thing I was skinny, so slipped though the window without a problem. I looked around, fire and ruble was all around me, and the only safe place right now was the lighthouse. I bolted to the lighthouse, threw open the door, and started running up the spiral staircase, almost tripping over my own feet.
When I got to the top, I could see the Lighthouse Inn burning to the ground. I coughed from all the smoke I had inhaled, and my clothes smelled like a barbecue. Now I had time to think. Who started the fire? Why don't I remember going to my room? Who wrote the note? And most importantly, Who's trying to killing me? Wait, what will the police think when I am up in this lighthouse? After that little detail crossed my mind, I ran down the stairs in a rush.
Most of the inn was in flames, I could hear sirens in the distance. I opened my bag and pulled out my phone, and pressed the tiny red button on the side.
"Em, there back". I hung up my phone, and started walking to the end of the pier.
I took a match out of my pocket and lit my bag on fire, I then took the battery out of the phone and threw it in the small fire. After I threw the rest of the phone in the water, and jumped into the lake without another thought.

The freezing cold water stung my cut on my leg. I swam through the water, getting closer and closer the the small boat waiting on the corner of the lake. As I got to the side of the boat, Em's head shot out of the side of the boat, I jolted back a little shocked.
"Austin, hi! Need a hand?" Em said cheerfully.
I looked at her as if she was crazy. She gave me a smile as she grabbed my hand and pulled me up. I was soaked.
"I really liked this shirt," I said with sarcasm.
Em giggled as she walked to steering wheel and started the engine. "So...what the hell happened?" She asked.
"I really don't know, I just blacked out and then the Inn was on fire!"
"Weird. Think it was the dude that attacked you at the airport?"
"Nah, he's in jail."
"No…he escaped."
"What," I turned around with disbelief in my eye's.
"He escaped late last night, killed two cops, but we already have S.B. and Foster on it.
"But this guy almost took me down" I said, fearing what may be to come.
"That’s true but we've got other things to do. We have to track down a kidnapping downtown. I stood up from my chair.
"Who?" I said.
"...Melissa" Em said with a stutter in her voice.
I wanted to say something but all I could manage was a tear streaming down my cold, damp face…
