i see you
i see them
i see you
i see them
i see you as this fragile broken piece
that's missing from my life
you may not fit perfectly
but i held you close by anyway
the hole was too big
but you covered it enough
enough for me to be fooled that you'd stay
you fell out
thinking you weren't enough
my void deepened and widened
i see them
they see you
they see you as this fragile broken piece
the piece that nobody would fit anywhere
they toss you around
unafraid of you falling and breaking further
you fell at their feet
they laughed and walked away
leaving you unbroken, unconsolable, unreachable
i tried to pick you up
but you pricked me
leaving me bleeding and battled
i watched as another
picked you up
and another
and another
trying to fit you into their fragile broken parts
you didn't quite fit
they didn't realise
they needed all your little pieces
your smallest pieces were left on the ground
i tried to pick you up
i tried to fill my void
but i needed all of you
to fill me
to make my fragile little heart a little more whole again.
