How dare you
Label me
Without knowing me
Look into my eyes,
My being
With lips moving
Words saying.
How dare you
Name me
Maim me
I’m not good enough
Yet you insist
You know all truth.
You once said
I was a word
Called me it
By name too often!
It seared, screamed
Across my soul
Left a scar
That I can’t erase
No matter how hard
I rub
How dare you
Call me beautiful
