I had never been to London before. All of the shops looked mushed together and compressed. Walking down the crowded streets, we received many strange looks, or rather Hagrid did because of his looming height and the strange floor-length leather jacket he adorned.
The looks given to us while we were on the train to get there were even worse. Sitting there, Hagrid seemed to take up two seats . I looked at a second piece of paper in the Hogwarts envelope that I hadn't noticed the night before on the train. It read:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT

UNIFORM
First years will require:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hid or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.
