Poem:
if integration comes from naming ourselves,
holding our own multitudes,
honoring our own evolution,
than perhaps freedom comes from fluidity,
the water ways of moving from one shape and form to another,
always remaining water.
to choose the face we wear, the self that engages
with a waiting world.
to know all names as ours, chosen and loved,
and to know who and what and how we want
to embody the breath that beats at the center.
there is so much kindness here, so much rooted power in the waves,
the woman who knows her center and chooses
which expression and exploration she will inhabit
for the day or work or love at hand.
this, the center, where we are brutal and soft,
know yes and know no,
and say I am here, I am here, I am here.
Prompt:
What are the identities you move within and between?
What is the breath that resides at the center?
How will you choose which expression of your identity to embody, moment by moment by moment?
