Poem:

identity:
the fact of being who or what a person or thing is,
the condition of being oneself or itself, and not another,
who a person or thing is; the qualities that distinguish or identify a person or thing.

and then there is this.
how the sturdy and spacious home of naming yourself,
rooted in your own self,
gives permission and full freedom to engage deeply,
to be in relationship with life and another,
to show up and enter in and not be afraid.
for the shadow wants to be seen in the light
and swallowed for its strong medicine.
for we are here to play and to be affected:
deeply and honestly, with hunger and devotion,
entering our own living questions.

Prompt:

From the home of your own named self
and the honesty of your identity,
how do you want to engage with the world around you?
What does it feel like to dance this identity,
and make art from this name,
and show up to your own face in them mirror,
eyes opened and entering in?
