Chapter 7
Was this really all just a bad nightmare, or were they actually standing right here in front of me at the end of the hallway a few paces? I was petrified for life, I didn't know whether I should run or not. But the thing is, I didn't really have a choice. For the matter of fact, my legs wouldn't move its as if they were glued to the dark wooden floor.
"C-can I help you, little girls?" I had no idea how the hell they got in the house, considering its a high top security house. And I also had no idea what I was dealing with at that time.
No answer...
"Can I help you little girls?" I took a step closer, my towel still wrapped around me.
Still no answer...
I approached closer to them, preparing for the worst, but the worst I thought of wasn't what it could have been. I reached my arm out to tap or touch one of them, I'm not quite sure why I made such a stupid move. When my hand should have touched the girl on the right, my hand went through.
"What the hell?!" I took a step back, what the heck just happened? My hand just went through the little girls body. But that's impossible... right?
I reached out to do it again, but they twins both turned around in a rhythmic pattern. They moved at the same pace. I was terrified. My jaw dropped a little when I examined their features.
They were wearing blue matching nightgowns with a blood splattered all over the front. They had dark brown hair, and little color in the pupils of their eyes. Their expressions were blank.
"Wanna play with us?" They both teased me willingly.
"What happened to you?! Why are you covered in blood?!" I asked with a glimmer of worry in my eyes. I stared at them with sympathy.
"Daddy killed mommy." they rhymed.
"Who? Is there any way I can help?" I was concerned and scared now.
"Daddy killed mommy." they repeated again.
"Who's your daddy and mommy?" I inquired once again.
"Why daddy why!?" they were screaming now, and I covered my ears. The screams penetrated my hearing. My ears felt like they were about to burst.
They kept screaming and finally I screamed back, "stop it!"
The screams stopped and they looked up at me. I uncovered my ears slowly. They looked horrified. What was happening?
"Help us find daddy." they said sympathetically, almost as if a command. "You must help us find daddy, he killed mommy."
"I will, I promise. But you have to tell me who your daddy is." I replied back curiously.
"We mustn't tell you now. Don't tell mommy you're helping us either." their voice was like a robot's voice. It gave me goosebumps when they spoke in the rhythmic tone that they did.
"Who's your mommy?" I kept trying to get answers out of the lost children.
"We can't tell you. We have to go." they hissed.
"Wait! I have to know to help you!" I shouted as I watched them disappear.
