Scott's POV
I was looking at the wall when I heard a lound noise behind me, followed by Kirstie's voice.
"Ouch!"
"Kirst are you okay?" I asked her, looking her way and walking up to her.
"Yeah I'm okay." She said, still facing the ground.
"Can't you stop being so clumsy?" I asked chuckling.
"Guess not..." She said getting on her knees.
"Do you need help getting up?" I asked her.
"No." She said.
"Sure?" I asked.
"I said let me down. And stop talking." She said looking at the ground.
"Rude enough." I said, surprised by her drastic change of attitude. I was only familiar with those kind of reaction from Mitchie, but not Kirst.
"I'm sorry, but I think I found something..." She said.
"Where?" Anastasia asked.
"On the ground." She said.Wait.... What?
Kirstie's POV
"Oh my god." Anastasia said, kneeling by my side.
Scott soon joined us, kneeling on my other side. We were looking closely at the stones we first thought were only for decoration but finally found out were a map.
"What's that map?" Scott asked.
"I think it's the whole town..." Anastasia said, half-whispering.
"And where are we on that map?" I asked.
"Right..... Here!" Anastasia said, crawling in front of the stone bench.Scott and I crawled to her side. I carefully grabbed the circular stone representing the garden and lifted it. Right under it was a hole with the box in it. Scott took the box, and I then placed the rock back to it's place.
"Find the box? Check." Scott said smiling.
"That was smart Kirst!" Said Anastasia, smiling at me.
"Well thanks!" I said. "I guess it wasn't that hard." I said.
"What do we do now?" Asked Anastasia."We open the box, I guess?" Scott said.
I took the key that was hanging from a chain around my neck, and opened the box with it. What I found there surprised me.In the little box were three things.
A rose circle shaped stone,
A necklace,
And a piece of paper.
I looked at the necklace. It was very pretty. There was a rose with a little diamond in the middle middle of it.
It was all made of gold."This seems so familiar..." Anastasia said.
"Well, it's a part of your family heritage I guess, maybe you saw it before?" Scott suggested.
"You're right, the necklace seems familiar, so maybe I did." Anastasia replied.
I took the piece of paper and unfolded it. It looked like the map on the floor, except that the dots I guessed were showing the ways didn't exactly fit with roads, sidewalks or parks.
"It must be the tunnels..." I whispered to myself.
"Yes, but how will we be able to find them?" Scott asked.
"And why do we have those three things with us?" Anastasia asked.
"I'm sure they will help us get through the tunnels!" I exclaimed.
"And how are we supposed to find them now?" Asked Scott, looking around."Let's get back to business and look around to find clues." Anastasia said.
We walked around, looking closely at everything. It made me chuckle to think about everything we dis, and how surreal how this day went by fast.
After a long time, I sat on the bench, Scott and Anastasia joining me shortly after.
"It's impossible. We have a show in a couple of hours, and half of the group is currently missing, probably kidnapped by a creepy stranger!" I said.
"When you put it like that, it really sounds like a spy movie!" Scott said, probably trying to make me smile.
"Let's act like spies then!" Anastasia said.
"Kirst, we can't give up. Your bandmates need you, and you need them too. We can do this if we all work together." Anastasia said.I had image in my head. Mitch, Kevin and the crew, all tied up and beaten. And Avi.
"You are right. We can't give up." I said.
I got up and looked around once more. I thought about what Scott said earlier. It was true, it looked a lot like a spy movie. What do spy usually do when they are looking for secret rooms? Oh right. They knock on walls.
I started to knock on the walls fast and everywhere.
"Uhm... Kirst... Are you like.. Okay?" Scott asked.
"Of course I am. Stop talking I need to hear something." I said.
I was knocking over and over again everywhere until I finally heard it. The place where when I knocked, it sounded deeper.
"Guys, that's it! I found it!" I said smiling.
They ran to me.
"Where is it?" Asked Scott.
"Right here, listen!" I said, knocking on the wall again.
"Yeah, it might be there, but what about the stones? The lady wouldn't destroy the wall and build it again everytime... There must be a mecanism somewhere." Said Anastasia.
"And the lady was the only one to have the key to this mystery..." Scott said.
"Something she could pass to her children when she died..." Anastasia said.
The key to the mystery... Something she could pass to her children.... It must be the heritage! And the heritage is in the... In the box....The objects!
"The rose stone!" I exclaimed.
"It must be the rose stone! The lady was the only one to have the key to the mystery, the mystery is the box, and the box is the key to the other mystery, the fountain!" I said, rushing to the box still on the bench."OMG Kirst you are a genius!" Scott said.
"There's a tiny hole just above the place where you knocked! It must fit there! Try it!" Anastasia said.
I carefully placed the stone in the hole. It was a perfect match. I took a deep breath before pushing it further in the wall. We heard rocks, all sort of sounds, and water.
There it was.
The lost fountain.
