"Stop!"

"Stop right there and drop the food!" Another guard demanded trying to chase after me.

"Surrender now and we'll consider not locking you up in the dungeon!"

Oh God! These guys are right behind me; if I don't hurry up, then they'll for sure catch me! There are abandoned kids that need me.

I look around and find a forest right across from me. I decide it's the best I've got since I knew how to get around forests easily. I take a chance and dash for the woods. Looking back I see that the guards are struggling to find which path I've taken due to the many trees.

I look back ahead determined to feed the staving children. This is what I do for a living; feeding the youngsters that have no family to provide them shelter and food. I took this path all on my own, this was my choice; my path. I wanted to be there for these kids since no one was there for me, especially when I needed them the most. It all started the day my parents died.

Flashback

"Hey sweetie," a soft smooth voice said through the open door. There stood my lovely mother, Kathryn Locks, with a warming smile. I smiled back at her."Mommie! Are you going to give me a good night kiss?" Her laugh was music to my ears. "Of course honey." She closed the door and sat next to me on my bed. She looked at me with her beautiful soft eyes that sparkled with so much light. I loved that look in her eyes. It made me feel safe and at home. But suddenly something felt wrong, I didn't like it. I felt scared like Mommie was slipping away from me.

"You'll always be here with me right Mommie?"

Mommie's face contorted with confusion but recovered quickly.

"Of course sweetie, I will always be here if you ever need me."

"Doesn't matter if you're in the desert, or in the jungle, or even the moon. I will always be here and I will always come and find you...  every single time" She said smiling softly at me

Repeating her soft words in my mind I slowly drifted off to sleep.

It felt like only minutes later into my sleep I heard screaming! I jolted awake and look around my room and see mommie.

Thank goodness... Mommie is fine.

I saw she was talking to Daddy, and they were whispering quietly to each other. It looked as if they were panicking, making me worry.

"Mommie? What's going on?"

Mommie quickly turned around to face me. And I noticed there was tension and fear all over her sweet face. She ran up to my while I was still on my bed and hugged me tightly like the world might end.

"Oh my sweet little girl, It's going to be okay," she said running her hand down my medium length hair. It was as if she was trying to convince herself that everything was going to be alright.

"Mommie, why are you crying?" I asked with water brimming in my eyes.

"Sweetie listen to me carefully, stay inside your room with the door locked until daddy or me or someone you know and trust tell you to. Okay? Understand?"

"Why mommie? You're making me worried."

"Please Faith, I promise this will all make sense later, but for now just stay here."
