Immediately I stepped in, my aunt saw me and smiled. She gestured for me to come into the living room. I went closer to her. "This is Adaora. Ora for short" she said pointing to a mature looking girl. About my age, shorter than I am though. She smiled. Shy, just like me. "This is Ekene" my aunt continued pointing to the boy standing beside me. The exact opposite of his sister. He looked younger than me, he was taller than me and very outgoing. "Nice to meet you" he said with his very real American accent as he extended his hand. I shook him. "Oh what fresh hell is this?" I mumbled. "What?" He asked. "I said it's a pleasure". He just smiled. I doubt he believed me though but he nodded. My aunt continued " This is Olachi. Ola for short" she said pointing to the second girl. She was just like her elder brother. She was tall too. She waved. "This is Kachisicho. Kachi for short" my aunt continued pointing to the third girl. She was a cute fair girl. "And lastly, this is Chizaram. Zara for short" I looked at the youngest girl. She was really pretty and she blushed a pretty shade of red.
Then my aunt turned to them and said, "This is Dawn" "Dawn? Like the dawn of a new day?" Ekene asked. I raised an eyebrow at him. I was used to being asked that question a lot but that didn't stop me from putting up a fight about it. "Yeah, do you have a problem with that?" "I think it's a pretty name." Zara whispered just loud enough for me to hear her "Why thank you darling" I said to her. She smiled at me. She had dimples. I was a sucker for dimples.
I turned to leave when I heard my mum's voice, "Where are you going to? Come and socialize with your cousins instead of going back to that room alone. You need to learn to socialize with people" she said frowning. I sighed and went back into the living room where my cousins were. I sat beside Ora. "So tell me about yourself" "Well there isn't much to know. We are age mates though. I'm going to college next year. That's pretty much it". Just then, Ekene came over "Could I take a picture of both of you?" Ora looked at me, I just nodded. We both smiled. He took a picture and that's when I realised he had a Nikon camera on his neck. "Does he always take pictures?" I asked Ora "Oh yeah and he's really good at it" I mentally reminded myself to ask to see the pictures. Soon Ekene came and sat beside Ora and I "So tell me about yourself Ekene" I said. "There isn't much to know actually. I'm in 10th grade. I love to take pictures and I love playing the piano. Uhm, that's probably all there is to know" "Oh wow. I love to play the piano too" I said excitedly. "Mozart?" He asked. "Majorly Beethoven. I'm still a beginner though but I play fur Elise decently well. I'm learning to play symphony fate no.1 but to be honest with you, I never really had a piano teacher and I never went for piano lessons. I just started playing. Most people think I'm either a liar or a bragger because apparently a 13 year old can't just begin to play the piano so... Yeah" I literally blabbed out. He had this weird look on his face. I felt embarrassed. "Oh I'm sorry, was I talking too fast?" "No. Not at all. I'm just... Fascinated is all" "So you got all that?" "Yeah. You're really talented" he said. "Well thank you for not judging" he just smiled and stood up to take more pictures.
Well this was going to be one heck of a holiday.******************************
