We went downstairs to the living room and sure enough, everyone was waiting on us. Ora was the first to speak up. "Hey Dawn, you doing okay?" "Yeah I'm good. I'm sorry for my outburst earlier." "Oh it's no big deal. I'm glad your feeling better. Now come on, let's have fun." "That's sounds nice." It honestly did. We played a lot of card games. It was fun. I still felt bad for earlier, so I brought chocolate cookies to make up for it. They went home later that evening and I did miss them but I was glad I had fun.
The holiday was pretty uneventful, just them coming over and playing games, dancing, taking pictures. Stuff like that. Eventually new years eve came. It was a family tradition to gather together at night and celebrate the new year together. There was food and dancing and loud music obviously. Did I mention how much I hated loud music?
Anyways, we did the countdown to new year and then the best part of the evening... Fireworks. They're always so pretty. "Happy new year Dawn. I'm really glad I got to meet you!" Ora literally shouted because of the loud music. "I'm really glad I got to meet you to."
We prayed as a family, because in Nigeria, prayer and family are key. As the holiday came to an end, I felt sad. Everyone was going back to there normal life, including me. I had school. I exchanged number with Ora and Ekene before they left. I thought that was going to be the most painful thing I'd experience that year but little did I know...A/n
