Star and Marco entered the bus on their way to school as usual. Star suddenly grabbed his hand. Marco looked down at their intertwined fingers and back at her, smiling up at him. Turning back to the students on the bus giving them weird looks, Marco quickly removed his hand from Star's. He rushed over and found an empty seat, pulling his hoodie over his face. Star was disappointed, but brushed it off and sat next to Marco. The entire bus ride was awkward. Both Star and the other students were making Marco uncomfortable. When the bus finally arrived at school, Marco rushed out and ran into the building.
"Wait! Marco! Wait for me!" Star yelled. When she finally caught up, she grabbed his arm walking by his side. Marco brushed her off and ran to his locker. Star was certain now that something wasn't right.

All day, Marco wouldn't even look at Star, let alone speak to her. He just kept avoiding her through out all their classes, but Star kept pushing him.
"Marco!" Star whisper-yelled. She threw a ball of paper at his head. When he looked back at her, she gave him a goofy grin. He peeled open the crumpled parchment. Star drew a big heart that said 'I love you'. Before the teacher or any of the students noticed, Marco crumpled the note back up and threw back to Star. Star was mad.
What is his problem?!She thought.
She was angry at Marco. Why was he acting like this?
Star did her best from bursting into tears right then and there. She felt the hot prickling forming behind her eyes. Yes they liked eachother, but they weren't dating. He could just be in a bad mood. But Star didn't see it that way.
Later at lunch, Star tried again to get Marco to acknowledge her. She sat down next to him, but he shifted the opposite direction.
"Hi Marco!" She said trying to sound excited.
He gave her a small 'hey' before continuing to eat his food.
"What is your problem?" Star aske da little too loudly. Some students turned to look at what's happening. Marco looked down again with his hood over his brown head.
"Fine! Don't answer me! I'll just sit over here," she looked around the lunch room and spotted Oscar softly playing his guitar,"with Oscar!"
Marco immediately lifted his head, eyes filled with regret. Calling over to Oscar, Star skipped
over to the table and took a seat.

Maybe now Marco will think twice about ignoring me.
