"You what?!" Hunter raved in the middle of a grill and bar in town.

"I kissed her."

"You're awful," Hunter laughed, sitting back.

"Please, like you never cheated on Grace."

"Oh, nice one. Right in the heart."

"Shut up," I told him, sipping my drink.

"Okay, so what exactly happened?"

"We were at a party, and we were talking, and we kissed. It meant nothing."

"But why Avery of all people? Your ex best friend's ex girlfriend."

"That's the point, Hunt."

"You think you're getting back at him somehow? Because lemme tell you, he's over Avery."

"I know. But trust me, he keeps a soft spot for his exes."

"So you're hurting two of his exes to make him crazy?"

"What?"

"Avery and Aurelia."

"Aurelia isn't his ex."

"True, she's his girl."

"What? No. She's dating me."

"Just because she's dating you doesn't mean she's all yours, bud. She can still do whatever she wants. Just like you."

"She wouldn't."

"You would." I smirked at him and sat back.

"You're good."

"At more than one thing," he said, shooting me a wink.

"You're disgusting. Have you found anyone since Grace?"

"Yeah, I was seeing this girl from another school for a little bit, but now I'm trying to hook this Savannah chick."

"You like her?"

"Nah, but she's hot."

"Have fun with that," I laughed. The check came back and I gave it to him.

"Whoa, what is this for?" Hunter asked, looking hurt. "You order this big-ass burger and you're gonna make me pay for it?"

"You're the one who wanted to meet up for lunch."

"Yeah, and you should be with your girlfriend instead. Whoever it is."

"You're so annoying."

"I get it from you, babe." I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"I'm gonna go. See ya Monday."

"Bye." I walked out of the restaurant and went to my car. I drove to the drugstore to get some highlighters for my reading assignment that's due on Tuesday, which I haven't even started.

Aurelia and I were supposed to get together last weekend and work on it but she said her brother was driving her to the doctors to get a strep test.

I saw Avery in the store, buying some... lady products.

"Hey," I stated, walking up to her and leaning against a shelf.

"Can you move your arm? It's blocking the tampons." I pulled away my arm quickly and shivered slightly. She laughed and pulled a certain package off.

"How are you?" I asked.

"It was a mistake. You don't have to check up on me. We kissed, we didn't get married in Vegas with a knock-off Elvis joining us in a lifetime together."
