After brushing through my curly brown hair, I put it into a ponytail and headed out to the living room of the apartment I shared with my fiancé, Dan.

"Mommy?" My 2 year old son, Jamie, asked.

I smiled, picking him up and shifting him to my hip, "What's up, cutie?"

He scratched his nose, "When is Daddy coming home?"

I sighed. Dan has been off on tour in The Jersey Boys, and hasn't had time off in a couple of months. "Daddy is very busy with work, that's why we don't see him that much. How about I promise you something?" Jaime nodded curiously, "I promise that he will be home before Christmas in 2 weeks."

"That's good!" Jaime said, smiling while we walked into his bedroom.

"Let's get you ready for bed."

After his teeth were brushed, he had his pajamas on, and I had read him a story, it seemed as if Jaime was starting to drift off.

As soon as I got up and walked towards the door, I heard my son shuffle in his bed, "Can we call Daddy?"

Turning on the small lamp on the dresser, I nodded and pulled out my phone. It ringed for a couple of seconds, and then Dan picked up.

"Hey, Ace Face!"

"Hey, cowboy." I said quietly, smiling when I heard his voice, "Jaime wanted to call you." I put the call onto speaker phone.

Dan laughed, "How's my little man?" he asked after I handed the phone to our son.

"Gweat!" Jaime yelled in his adorable 3 year old voice. "I miss you."

"I promise you'll will see me sooner than you think!" Dan replied.

They talked for a while longer; Jaime telling his dad all of the crazy stuff that we had seen at Central Park yesterday, and Dan telling him a funny story about someone else in the cast.

Jaime handed the phone back to me, and I talked for a while with Dan before hanging up.

"I miss Daddy!" Jaime yelled, starting to cry. I picked him up, trying to calm him down, even though I knew it probably wouldn't work.

He kicked and screamed for what felt like hours, and nothing helped. I put on his favorite show, I gave him his favorite stuffed elephant, Elf, and I even offered him some ice cream, which usually calms him down right away. When his screams quieted down into more spaced apart sobs, I laid him back down into his bed, which just set him off again.

"I WANT DA-DA!" Jaime screamed even louder, causing the old lady in the apartment next to us to bang on the wall.

Completely wiped out, I picked him up again and sat down with him in my lap. A few minutes later, I tried to put him down again, but he was still crying. This is probably the worst melt down he's ever had, and he's had some bad ones.

I had just placed my forearms on the railing of the bed, and rested my head down, when Jaime finally stopped crying. He had sat up in bed, and was staring at the wall behind me.

I turned around and saw my fiancé standing there, smiling at me.

"Dan!"

He engulfed me in his arms, and I sunk into his chest, breathing in the comforting smell of his cologne.

"I've missed you so much, Kayleigh," Dan said into my hair, "I love you."

"I love you too." I replied, "you came at the most incredible time," he looked at me worried, "Jaime has been crying for you for over an hour."

"I'm sorry, baby." He said sweetly, kissing me, "I would've been here sooner but it was raining in Denver."

Jaime reached his arms out, motioning for his dad to pick him up. Dan did just that, and we all went out into the living room to watch Jaime's favorite movie. They fell asleep a few minutes into the movie and I couldn't help myself to not take a picture.

I had the cutest family.
