don't let go

A/N - A little different than what I usually write, but, whatever.

Your eyes are closed

And I think my heart stopped beating

But you just stare at your feet and hold my hand

And I'm hoping you won't let go because

When you let go, we'll lose it all

Every smile, every laugh

We'll lose it

I'll lose it

Because I hate separation

But you say it's better this way

What way?

This way will hurt

It'll leave me screaming

And slamming the door

And it will make things bitter

When we see each other

After this

So don't let go of my hand

Because although you say you'll be alright

This will hurt you too

And you know it

Because you want to be friends

But we'll just drift away

And that will hurt you

So don't let go of my hand

Because it's cold out

And it's keeping me warm

And you know how much I hate the winter

So don't let go of my hand

Because we were supposed to grow old

That's what your mother said

And we both know she's never wrong

And it'll disappoint her if you come home alone

So don't let go of my hand

Because you'll let go of mine

And it will make this real

And I'll have to face the fact that you're gone

And I hate confrontation

So don't let go of my hand

Because all of this will come to an end
