You might’ve thought that since I met Harry and actually had a proper conversation with him I would stop watching him, well you’re dead wrong. Here I am standing by my window watching him shovel the snow from the pavement in front of his house. He finished and threw the shovel on the pile of snow, now in the garden, and then scraped the snow clear from the front of his car.
A few minutes later Annabelle came running out of the house and slipped. She landed on her bum above the snow piles. Harry came dashing in her direction his face full of panic, but then a dimpled smile found its way on his face when he noticed that Annabelle was laughing at herself and she didn’t get hurt. He shook his head and picked her up but she refused; he put her back down. Annabelle grabbed some of the snow beneath her feet and formed a tiny ball throwing it at Harry.
Harry laughed and held an even bigger snow ball and just when I thought he was going to throw it on her; he threw it on his stomach. Not by accident of course but he made Annabelle believe he did and she was laughing so much you could see her jumping up and down from vibration due to laughter. Harry threw another ball at himself and she laughed just like she did the last time if not more.
I was grinning the entire time watching these two, it was all too cute. I think this is my favorite side of Harry, the fun and always smiling side. It was adorable how much he cared for her. His love for his baby sister was clear just by simple actions from him directed at her. Sometimes I wonder where their father is. I never saw a male other than Harry and his grand father around the house. Harry always seemed the one responsible for everything; groceries, food, driving, cleaning the car, and taking care of his little sister when no one else can. He seemed too young for that which made me wonder again, where is the man who’s supposed to be responsible for that?
I kept watching the pair for a few more minutes and just as I was about to leave, Annabelle points at me and waves jumping up and down. Waving back at her I noticed Harry smiling up at me and waving as well. I returned the gesture and went back to what I was previously doing; drawing. My cheeks were still flushed from the previous events. And he knows that I’ve been watching them, nothing more embarrassing than that.
While shadowing the outlines of my newest drawing, the doorbell rang. I got up and headed downstairs. I looked through the peephole of the door and opened it; it was Harry and Annabelle.
“She insisted on coming over to tell you to-“
“To come and play with us!” She cut Harry off mid-sentence.
I laughed nodding. “Let me get my boots on then.” I went back inside and got my boots on, grabbing my jacket on the way out and closing the door behind me.
“So what do you want to do?” I asked Annabelle bending down so I was the same level as her.
“A snowman!” She exclaimed throwing her hands up in the air.
“Well let me go back inside the house to get you guys a scarf, a few buttons and a carrot.” Harry spoke.
I nodded and then started forming the lower part of the snowman which meant the biggest ball with Annabelle’s help. A few minutes later Harry was by my side forming the snowman as well.
Our hands occasionally brushed against each other resulting in a tingling feeling where his hand once touched. He was wearing gloves and totally seemed unaffected whatsoever.
“How’s your grand-pa been?” I asked.
“Better.” He nodded.
“How have you been?” I asked again emphasizing the word ‘you’.
“I’m good thanks.” He laughed. “And how about you?” He asked raising his eyebrows.
“I’m fine.”
