She was running. Running for her life. The leaves scrunched under her feet as she pelted through the dark, cold forest. Her brown hair clung to her sweaty face and her head kept turning back to see if the wolf was far behind. It was getting closer and closer. Its teeth dripping, thirsty to kill. Thirsty to get a taste of the young girl in front of it... It pounced and jumped on top of the young girl, clawing and ripping at her with its teeth. She screamed as the bright red liquid oozed from all over her body. The screams kept coming as she was dragged to the hard ground, whilst being mauled by the wolf. Growls were omitted from the yellow-eyed, creatures mouth, as the girl's scream became muffled. She lay there, her body cold and lifeless and the wolf scurried off into the darkness. There was a massive gush of wind as leaves flew up all around the girl hiding her face. The leaves suddenly dropped to the floor and her face was shown. It...it was....

I bolted up-right in my bed, my body was hot and sweaty and my breathing unsteady.

"Me." I hushed "It was me."

I looked over at my nightstand and saw the clock displayed 04:00 AM. I let out a loud puff as I tried to calm my trembling hands. I pulled the covers off me and scrambled out of bed walking over to my bathroom in darkness. I hopped in the shower and stayed in there for an hour, letting the boiling water relax my muscles.

"It was just a nightmare Lexi. It was just a nightmare." I kept repeating over and over again, trying to get my mind not to believe what I'd just seen. It was so real, everything felt so real.

I slid out of the shower and pulled on some sweats and a hoodie. I decided to creep out of the house and go grab a coffee. Beans and Co Coffee Shop was only based around the corner and are early openers.

"Oh, hey Lexi" Eva waved "what're you doing here this early?!" She questioned

"Hey Eva" Eva was the owner of Beans and Co Coffee Shop and I got to know her from being a frequent customer. She is 29 and petite with very curly brown hair. She is probably the nicest person I have ever met, she is genuine and always talks and helps random customers. "I couldn't sleep"

"Nightmares again?"

"Uh...yeah" I said sitting down in a booth and Eva came and joined me seeing as though there are no customers yet.

"You know I'm here to talk to you anytime?" She replied resting her hand on my arm with a sympathetic smile

"Yeah I know" I patted her hand with mine "But Eva..."

"What is it sweet thing?"

"The nightmares"

"Yes" she gestured

"It was different this time. Not the same as last" I said to her looking up

"What happened Lex?" Confusion spread across her face.

"Well...you know I normally have the same nightmare over and over again since my dad died? Me being chased by this wolf, running through the forest?"

"Yeah I know" she looked worried

"Um...well...this time I-uh...It got me." I spattered out trying to sound brave, but only sounding scared. "I died in the dream this time Eva."

"Oh my" she sad covering her mouth "but you're okay yes?"

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just confused" I said with a slight smile.

Confused. What a load of bullshit. I'm scared and worried and.. and.. lonely. I've only ever told Eva about this because I know if I told my mom she would just think I'm delusional or something. I mean, I love her and she loves me but we're not that close. Ever since dad died she's never been the same and I'm sacred that if I push her with a little bit of 'Alexis drama' she will do something bad and I don't want that to happen. She's all the family I have left.

"Well you need to be safe okay Lex?" She stood up "you can come here anytime or just give me a call if you need to talk" She smiled warmly at me

"Thank you Eva, really I mean it. You've been here to listen to all my crap and let me have a shoulder to cry on, you're an amazing person." I said standing up returning her smile

"Aww Lexi! That's okay sweet thing and Thank you for keeping me company all this time!" She said hugging me. I held her tight until she let go to get me a coffee.

I finished up my coffee, (which really woke me up) and said goodbye to Eva giving her another quick hug while I left to walk back to my house. It was 6am so I had time to get into some proper clothes and do my hair ready for school. Urgh school, at least ill be safe there.

When I got home I changed into some black jeans, a purple vest, a black leather jacket and threw on some grey ankle boots. I pulled out my curlers and sat on the chair in my bedroom opposite the mirror, and started to curl my chestnut brown hair. I then sprayed on some light perfume and took time to do my make up. I walked again back over to my long mirror and stood in front of it, looking at myself. I was quite proud in taking time over looking nice for school, because I normally just can't be bothered and go in looking like a rat. Maybe I want to look nice for Scott?...or maybe I want to try and find out what he was doing in the woods.

It was now 7am and I walked down the hallway and banged in my moms door. "Mom! I'm going now. Bye!" I shouted as I descended down the stairs toward the front door, picking up my keys and bag.

"Lets hope day 2 goes a lot better than day 1." I whispered to myself as I left the house to school.
