Hilbert heard the gate slamming shut behind him. It marked the beginning of his final trial before becoming the Champion. Hilbert knew the order of trainers he was going to battle and thus made his way to the first of the four towers, he had walked in upon the home of novelist who could hear and call upon the power of the spirits, Shauntal, the ghost-type master.

"Welcome back, challenger."

Shauntal predicted his arrival. She was already battle ready, her standard book and writing already equipped in both hands.

"The sadness of a trainer losing her love slowly swept away by the loving arms of another. That was part of the novel I wrote ever since the end of the Team Plasma fiasco. Just so you know, I've gotten a lot stronger since our last emcounter, beating me won't be as simple as it was before."

Shauntal grabbed her Pokeball. Hilbert could tell the Elite Four had leveled up considerably. He couldn't take any of the upcoming fight as lightly as he did before, he had to be absolutely serious when it came to the upcoming battles.

"Bring it."

That was all he needed to say. He was as prepared as he ever would be. This was his first opponent, and he knew this was going to be a good battle.

"Go, Haxorus!"

Shauntal felt the majestic aura radiating from the Dragon-type Pokemon infront of her. She could feel her blood boiling, this anticipation and excitement was overpowering her calm and collected demeanour, it was time for her to finally let loose.

"Go! Confagrigus!"

"Haxorus, Sword Dance and follow it up with a Dragon Claw!"

"Confagrigus, use Protect!"

The green dragon rammed its claw onto the barrier created by the opposing coffin. It was an extremely intense battle, both trainers affluent with the drive to beat each other. However, drive was just drive, the victor would obviously be the one whose Pokemon had the clear advantage, and that was Hilbert in this current situation.

Hilbert's Haxorus dominated Shauntal's entire team. Hilbert remarked that she'd gotten stronger, but her team still wasn't strong enough to take out his dragon. Although disappointed, she accepted her loss and smiled sincerely at the trainer, she knew he had a purpose in challenging her again, and she had complete faith in Hilbert that he would succeed in whatever drove him to claim the Champion's title.

The following battles was nothing but a cake-walk for Hilbert. His Pokemon, mainly consisting on Haxorus and Metagross, had easily brushed past the leveled-up Pokemon of each of the remaining Elite Four. Obviously, there were a few close calls, such as Haxorus flinching due to Marshall's Sawk's Rock Slide attack, allowing Sawk to hit Haxorus once more with a High Jump Kick, but his Pokemon had conquered the adversity and now he was staning outside the Champion's Chamber, awaiting to battle his final opponent inside.

"Welcome! Hilbert!"

Alder grinned sheepishly at Hilbert. Ever since Alder met the boy, he had always felt that Hilbert was a trainer with a lot of raw potential, he was someone whose Pokemon could become seriously lethal if brought and trained up correctly. He had been itching to spar with him ever since he took out Team Plasma's true puppet leader, Ghetsis, and now he finally had the chance.

"Well Hilbert, you've been keeping well? I'd like to thank you for your wonderful contributions against Team Plasma, which consists of you taking out Ghetsis. Honestly, I believe it's a little unfair that media didn't even give you a little coverage, for that, I sincerely apologize. Well whatever, you've came here with the purpose of defeating me and claiming the Champion title right? Enough talk! Let's get straight to it!"
