oh shit the holy what the eff?
His brain short-circuited when he saw who came down the office and approaching him. Was this luck or the opposite?
Way would like to think it was the latter.
Two well-dressed males came out of the office overlooking the whole club. Way was sure that the dark-haired male was the same one from his blackout episode. He was like a fish with his mouth gaping in surprise. A fly could have entered but Way was caught off guard. It was so weird that he would meet that guy out of all days.
"Hi I'm JJ, the owner of RED and this is my business partner, Roo. My bartender told me you're here about the job?" JJ shook his hand in a handshake, not even waiting for him to extend his hand. Both men was surely rich, wearing designer suits that would have been the cost of his a year of his tuition when he was still a student.
Way's eyes were focused on Roo all that time but he recovered quickly when he felt the blonde's hand, JJ, touching his. It was firm and helped him balance himself. He managed to close his mouth and smile slightly saving himself from looking too foolish.
"Nice to meet you sir. My name's [1]Li Wei Lin. Please call me Way if you must.
I found your ad outside that you need someone to help with keeping records and stuff."
Way winced mentally when he said the word stuff and let go of the owner's hand. He's supposed act professional but he was acting too much like a dude his age.
"I can see why. Pretty name though."JJ almost laughed when he heard the male's name but he was swallowed the noise, not wanting to offend though he could understand why he would insist to be called Way.
"And please don't call me sir. I'm barely older than you. " He looked at his friend, Roo as if he said something funny.
Roo had seen Way's name on the man's wallet. It was an unusual name, but somehow it did fit the man in his opinion. Those big almond eyes remind him of a precious gem.
Way shrugged at JJ's reaction, already used to people's reaction; an unfortunate result of his mother's wish for a daughter and ended up having another son.
He then turned to shake Roo's hand as demanded by etiquette. "It's nice to meet you both." His voice did not waver, pretending not to recognize Roo even though it was obvious that he did. Who wouldn't? After the night they had together, no one would be able to forget.
Roo smirked, seeing through Way's facade. It was kind of cute in his opinion that this human had the audacity to ignore him. He knows that Way wanted to put everything behind him but he simply refuse to do that. What's the fun in forgetting? Playing nice gets boring pretty easy so he didn't.
The dark-haired male kept a strong grip on the smaller man's hand. At 193cm, he is kind of a giant towering over most people. "Nice to meet you too. Are you perhaps looking for seconds?"
There was a zing when they touched but Roo's words send his mood plummet. Way stiffened, his polite smile dropped and vanished in an instant. His face went pale at first and then went to a deep pink, embarrassed and angry at how shameless the man was. It was good but he wanted to forget it. After all, he's straight.
"What?" He forced down the urge to wipe that smirk from the Roo's face.
The male pointed to his shirt that says, 'Still hungry...'
Way closed his eyes and groaned, forgetting his chosen shirt of the day. He really wasn't thinking, with a mother threatening to cut his measly allowance, he cared more about finding a job than checking his clothes. He should have listened to his friends about changing his wardrobe.
"Is he really necessary?" He looked at the owner helplessly, wishing Roo would disappear.
"He can do whatever he wants. Roo practically owns half of the club even though his name is not on the deed.
"As long as he's professional and reasonable during work hours. I don't care what he does after that."
The blonde owner then changed the topic, settled himself on one the chairs the staff prepared for them. The two followed suit. "So do you think you can do the job?"
From then on Way ignored Roo as if he didn't exist and concentrated on his interview.
"Congratulations. You found him though he certainly isn't your usual type." The blonde owner watched his newest hire leave his club.
All throughout the interview, Roo let his friend do the talking. He just watched, making Way uncomfortable.
It didn't matter what Wei Lin was capable of. He was the reason why did new position was opened. Roo watched Way that night with his friends and heard them. Although he wasn't sure if there paths crossed again, he took a gamble and was glad the human he was looking for took the bait."I don't have a type." The dark-haired male coolly replied, appearing nonchalant his eyes still on the door although the new employee had already left.
"You do." Not even for a second did JJ believed those words coming from Roo. Over the past few decades, he had witnessed his fellow immortal have dalliances with the same predictable pattern. The man never cared for gender. But he preferred the ones who had experimented. "We ALL have our types." JJ grinned playfully, knowing Roo couldn't keep denying the facts. "You like them experienced. Also ones with a bit of a thing for pain. This one is still fresh. Feisty but he still has a bit of innocence in him. Honestly, he's more like my type. Not yours."
Roo chuckled and looked at his friend with a slightly frosty look, one that JJ didn't fear one bit. JJ knows how much he can push and for now he's safe. "We have a code my dear friend. No poaching. This one is something else."
The dark-haired immortal doesn't really understand it himself. He had his fair share of fresh meat; ones who would willing give him what he wants. But there was something in Wei Lin or rather Way that makes his blood pumping.
"But if you ever get tired of him...." JJ just couldn't stop himself from suggesting.
"Maybe."
Roo doesn't believe that it will happen though. This Li Wei Lin is unique and he intends to find out why.
[1] Way's real name, Li Wei Lin is a mixture of characters for male and female. The meaning of his name is precious jade.
=============
Tada! At last a new chapter. School got out of hand or rather my poor time management skills so I am always late and rushing. Also I would like to offer my sympathies to the hardworking translators of BL novels here. As a fan I was sad at what happened to them but whatever happens, I'll support them~ thanks for reading fellow daughters^^
I would like to remind you guys that English is not my first language so please forgive me for my mistakes in spelling or grammar. I try my best to make it longer but it looks like I'm failing in that department. Thanks for reading^^ I appreciate it a lot.
