Here was the thing. Joshua and you were friends every since you guys were 15. You guys met in high school where you guys both took vocal lessons together at school. He first came up to you and complimented you on your singing. Ever since then you guys became really close friends. You guys always told each other everything.
Ever since the beginning, you guys promised that no matter what happens you guys would tell each other everything and that you'll be there for each other always. He would always make you smile and looked past all your flaws. You guys occasionally sang and dance together even if you guys were pretty bad.
One day during English lesson, Joshua chucked a piece of paper at you. It said ,'Hey, let's make a promise. If you don't find the right guy for you in ten years, you marry me, okay? Sign your name here for proof.' You were up for it and you sorta liked him so you boldly signed it. You chucked it back at it and smirked and went back to working. Joshua was overjoyed.
Five years later, something major hit you. You found out that you were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and the doctor predicted that you would die within a few months. You were in major shock. You couldn't speak. All you could do was leave and walk home. You didn't want to tell Joshua cause you didn't want to worry him. Since he was the only person you have and you couldn't tell him, you went to go therapy.
Each week you would go therapy and talk about your issues. Soon later you found out that you were also diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Your life felt as if it was slowly falling down and breaking into pieces. Your life wasn't how you imagined it to be. Every single day at school you would avoid Joshua and every day after school you would walk straight home. Joshua was really worried for you. He felt like something was wrong.
You could see that he was worried but you just couldn't tell him so you would keep it all inside and cry it all out at night. Your entire world was crumbling down before your eyes. That night, Joshua texted you saying, 'Hey, Y/N. If you ever need help, I'll be here. Know that I'll always be here for you, okay? Sleep tight. Goodnight :)' At that moment you burst into tears. He cares so much, you know you can tell him and trust him but you just can't.
More issues and problems entered your life. Your family wasn't financially stable, your parents were gonna have a divorce. It was all too much for you to take. That was when you began to self-harm. At first it was painful but you got used to it. You went to sleep crying with an aching heart.
On the next day, in English lesson, you began to feel a bit light headed. Your vision began to blur. All you could hear were mumbles. Tears built up. Your breathing was beginning to become more rapid and heavier than usual. You gripped onto your clothes tightly. Cold sweats formed. You felt as if you were about to die. Your heart was beating fast. The heavy, rapid breathing caused people to draw attention to you.
The teacher asked ,'Y/N, are you okay?' You forced a nod and before you knew it, you fell of your chair and your mind went into shut down mode. After all of that, all you could hear were people screaming and shouting.
Next thing you know, you were in the hospital.
