I'm in love with Lucy Snape, but I'm a Weasley!

~Chapter twenty two: The first meeting~

Fred's point of view

I was so happy - no! Happy does not describe how I feel! More like ecstatic about seeing George. It was so nice to see my other half again, I had missed him terribly and now that the battle was nearing I knew that this could, possibly, be our last proper time together.

"So how was it with Lucy Snape?" George asked me playfully giving me a prod in the arm

"It was good, she's been really nice to me, we've protected each other as much as possible" I said stretching out my legs, "I wish you could of come as well"

"No, it's alright, I was fine at Aunt Muriel's but it didn't feel the same without you"

"Yeah, so how's Harmony?"

"She's OK, but I don't see her much now, I have no idea where she lives and she seems terribly miserable, I've written letters to her and every one she sent back there were tear marks on them"

"That sucks..." I whispered, I lifted my head and saw Lucy talking to her friends, she was giving them hugs and laughing with them. Even Zacharias Smith was congratulating her and he doesn't often do that sort of thing. 

"So what now?" I asked George 

"Well we just have to stay strong and wait for you-know-who to attack" George bowed his head sadly 

"Yeah..." I murmured, all of a sudden Lucy had stood on a table and had cleared her throat, the whole room fell silent and listened intensely. 

"Sorry to bother you all but I just wanted to dish out an announcement" Lucy said making her voice echo across the silent room, "I just want to thank you all for being so strong because of my dad being headmaster and all, he's been such a-a, such a..." Lucy couldn't bring herself to say it, so I stood up 

"Say it Lucy!" I yelled 

"Such a foul git!" She squeaked 

Everyone cheered but Lucy looked as though she had something else to say, so I stood up and joined her on the table. 

"QUIET YOU LOT!" 

"Thanks Fred" Lucy laughed and the room fell silent, "right as we know, wether we like it or not, you-know-who is going to return. I know it's going to be scary but we have to fight, fight to stay alive. And I know from my experience from Dumbledore's army you can all fight like - well fighters!" 

There was some soft laughter that hung in the air for a moment or two. 

"We are going to have to show you-know-who's lot that we are much better and that we have trained for this day. I know despite the fact that my dad's headmaster that the teachers are on your side, the orginal teachers this is, so it won't just be us. I know the order members will be here to support us. We will win people, even if it seems like there is no tomorrow the good side always wins" 

Lucy smiled then there was a roar of applause but it was silenced by the sound of Snape's voice, it was coming from outside through speakers. 

"If all students would make their way down to the great hall, now, please" 

Everyone lined up outside the door and dispersed from the room two at a time. With a wave of my wand I made sure that me and Lucy both had school uniform on. We joined the queue and left the room as quickly as possible. 

"What do you reckon this is going to be about?" I whispered to Lucy

"Goodness knows" she said in a voice which was almost mute, I grabbed her hand and stroked it as we entered the great hall.
