When we got home Hayden gave me a cautious glance to see if I would stick to my word. When I nodded he still looked a little suspicious. The fact that he barely trusted me after this long stung. When mom walked in she greeted us both and looked at Hayden's tired state.

"Is everything okay?" Mom asked, looking at me.

"Yeah, we both just had a hard practice today," I said and Hayden's expression looked relieved.

"Alright well you two can go on to sleep right after dinner, I'll get started now," mom said.

"Thanks," I said and she smiled and looked at Hayden.

Hayden looked up at her, "thank you," he said and her smile grew even bigger.

"You're welcome," she said, looking between both of us before she walked over to the stove.

I walked back to my room but when I grabbed my doorknob to open my door I felt a hand on my elbow. I turned to see Hayden standing behind me. "Yes?" I asked.

"Thank you for that," Hayden said.

"You're welcome but I might not be so understanding next time if it happens again," I said.

"I understand, it was a onetime thing," Hayden said and turned around and went into his own room.

I sighed and walked into my room. I listened to music for a while and then I looked out my window, stuck in thought. I couldn't remember anything the night Hayden came here past when Hayden was about to look at me. I would ask Hayden but I didn't want to upset him.

The next thing I knew someone was pulling my body towards them and slightly shaking me. "Lex!" Hayden shouted as my eyes snapped up to look at him.

       "What?" I asked, confused.

Hayden dropped his hands from my shoulders and sat on my bed next to me. "I called your name like ten times and you never answered," Hayden said and when I looked at him I was surprised to see that he was scared.

       "I'm sorry," I said.

"What were you in such deep thought about?" Hayden asked.

I looked down, "nothing," I said.

Hayden turned my face towards him, "you can tell me," he said and I gave him a curious expression and I was a little shocked he was talking this much.

"It's about the night you came here, are you sure you want to know?" I asked.

This time he gave me a curious expression but he also gave me a cautious glance, "yes, I'm sure," he said.

I hesitated a second before I started, "after I got all the blood off of you and my dad came in and told me to leave, when I was closing the door, you were about to look up at me through the crack in the door," I started and looked up at him, he didn't seem surprised or hurt so I continued. "I can't remember anything after that from that night," I finished.

"Why are you thinking about that night so much recently?" Hayden asked and I could see his eyes darken in thought.

"It's just that when I touched your hand at dinner last night it was very cold, just like the night you came here, and it got me to thinking about that night and I noticed that I couldn't remember anything past that point from that night," I said.

"I understand, but don't dread on it for too long," Hayden said.

"You're not going to tell me?" I asked.
