My heart raced like crazy; my first kiss was the boyfriend, well, the ex-boyfriend of my worst enemy. How could something so bad taste so good?
I did so many bad things this evening...I snuck out of the academy with the school's bad boy, I broke the curfew, and who knows how many laws! I went to an illegal rave where you have to wear headphones so nobody will hear the party and call the cops... Oh my god, my dad isn't just going to ground me, he is going to arrest me.
"Are you okay?" Oliver broke out of our kiss and took our headphones off.
"Mhm," my mind drifted back into my body. My first kiss. My first kiss was Oliver Black. Fudgesicles.
Oliver raised his left eyebrow in a questionable manner. "Because you're doing that thing," he pointed to his nose.
"What thing?" I said.
"You're moving your nostrils in a weird way," he laughed.
Oh god. Oh god no. I had a weird way of spreading my nostrils while breathing when I was nervous. That only looks attractive on a guinea pig.
I slammed a hand on my face with more force than I anticipated. "Ouch," I rubbed my nose.
Oliver grabbed my hand and pulled it away from my face. "It's kinda cute actually."
Suddenly a thunderbolt interrupted the silent party. We all looked up at the pitch black sky, broken by lightning scars here and there. The smell of rain was in the air.
"Hey, hey," the DJ's voice echoed through the speakers now. "it looks like a storm is coming our way. Boys and girls, you better pack up your things, this outdoor silent party is over!"
A bunch of sighs and 'oh no's' were heard from the crowd. Colorful and sweaty people began placing their borrowed headphones back on the table and grabbing their tiny backpacks which seemed to be the must-have-item of this year.
"We better go too," Oliver threw the headphones towards the DJ.
I nodded in response, but before he even saw it, Oliver took my hand into his and guided me through the moving crowd. It was a strange feeling. A safe feeling. A loving feeling. But I couldn't read too much into it. Should I tell him this was my first kiss? No, he's not that kinda guy who'd care...Was it even good? Oh fudgesicles, I only remember something hot and wet in my mouth, and butterflies in my stomach. Was it good for him?!
I slammed my hand on my face again as I felt my nostrils moving in a nervous way. "Ouch," I mumbled.
We have gotten away from the crowd, following the forest path that lead back to the Wayward Academy. We walked in silence. He didn't say anything about the kiss. Was he supposed to say something? Do people talk about this? Well, it probably wasn't anything special for him, since it was like the hundredth time for him, but for me...
I felt a weird knot in my stomach. I wanted to say something about it. But...I'm just not that brave.
"Ever been to a party like this?" Oliver interrupted my mental conversation with myself.
"No," I shook my head. I've never been to a party.
"It's pretty new, I think it's a brilliant idea. The headphones and all," he mimicked towards his ears. "to obey the noise curfew." Oliver cleared his throat.
Was it just me, or did he seem nervous?
"Oh crap," he reached out with his hand and I felt the first, heavy droplet on my forehead. "Run!" He half screamed half laughed, and sprinted towards the gates.
We climbed over the wall, which was particularly tricky since the pouring rain made everything slippery. My heart trembled with both fear and excitement as we climbed up the rain pipes into the girl dormitory.
When we got to the window in my hallway we were both already soaking wet. My clothes were getting heavier with each droplet, and my hair turned pitch black with all the water caught in them.
"So this is it," said Oliver with a loud voice to overpower the sound of pouring rain.
I looked at the half opened window and nodded.
"Well," Oliver laughed. "Eveline Rose, thank you for the excellent fifteen minute silent party." he commented on our short stay. But nothing of the kiss.
"Thank you for taking me," I smiled and stepped into the hallway.
Both awkward, we didn't know what to say.
"I best be going before I catch a cold," he said.
"Okay," I glanced at his eyes which appeared almost out-of-this-world as the lightning lighted the green in them.
"Good night," Oliver smiled and stepped on the roof that led towards the boy dormitory.
"Night," I smiled back and walked towards my room.
So many thoughts went through my mind, so much has happened in a matter of hours. It is absolutely ridiculous how can only one event affect your life in such a manner. I gently touched my lips which were still burning with the touch of his kiss.
I silently opened the door to my room, and was quickly bombarded by Latiffa's snoring. She may be a beauty, but she sure sounded like a beast when she was asleep.
I made a few silent and wet steps towards the bathroom. When I looked in the mirror...it was like my face, wasn't my face. My hair was black with a shade of red illuminating through it, and my pale skin seemed even paler than usual. Droplets of water ran down my narrow face and into all sharp corners of my too skinny jawline. Smudged mascara rounded my grey eyes. I never liked my grey eyes. I always thought the made me seem so...plain-looking. But my lips...my lips were bright pink, and I didn't even use any lipstick on them tonight. As I touched them they felt hot to the touch. And soft. And plump. I could almost feel the blood vessels screaming as the blood ran through them.
I shook my head, and placed my hair into a towel. I dropped my wet clothes to the floor, and got into one of those fluffy white robes you get in fancy hotels, only this one was a fancy robe with Wayward Academy crest on it.
Now, the only thing that was missing were my pink fluffy socks.
I walked out of the bathroom, and bumped into someone that was standing in front of the door. A weird squeaky noise left my mouth before it was covered up by a masculine hand.
"Shhh," Oliver pressed a finger against his lips before he released my mouth. "You're gonna wake up your roommates." He whispered.
I looked at Lina, and then Latiffa who had just snored like a pig on steroids.
"Slight problem in the plan," said Oliver. "the window in my dormitory is closed. So," he frowned in an apologetic way. "I need a place to crash."
Oh, fudgesicles.
