I know, I know, I'm late. I just got back from looking at that college and I am planning a short vacation with a group of friends to Texas. We are planning a bunch of sh*t and I can't wait to see all of my friends again, since I haven't seen most of them since last summer when we met in Jersey. Alright, I'm done now, TO THE STORY! Thanks again to my Beta reader, gracie_ghost .

Mitch didn't know what annoyed him more: the fact that Mars was waiting for them on their porch the day after the team decided to fight, or the fact that the vampire king had predicted that Mitch would get his friends to come too and had come prepared. When they opened their front door, ready to leave, he was just there, leaning against the porch column nonchalantly.

When Mitch took a closer look at the tall individual, he noticed his skin had changed color. Instead of being a pale gray color, his skin had a peach tint, and he would have looked completely human if it wasn't for the red eyes. Also, the areas of his bottom lip which were normally covered with fangs where bare.

When Mars spotted them, he pushed off the column and folded his arms, shifting his weight to one foot in a position that screamed 'You kept me waiting, prepare to be vanquished'. However, the mischievous smirk that curled the tips of his pale lips told otherwise.

"There you are! Did you pack the furniture too?" He scoffed, shifting his weight. He was
wearing a lighter outfit; a thin white tank top, sleeveless thin gray hoodie, khaki shorts, and black converse. His black hair was pulled back into a short ponytail and a small drawstring pouch hung from his belt. Even with his common clothing, somehow he still appeared regal.

Mitch was about to make a witty comeback when Ty hastily dropped to one knee and bowed his head, squeaking like he was in trouble. "Sorry, Your Highness!" He said. Everyone else blinked before actually processing what was happening, then dropped into their own bows. Mitch remained standing. He watched Mars seem to deflate slightly as everyone reminded him of his position.

"No problem, just get up." The royal mumbled. Mitch wondered what it would be like to be bowed at 24/7. He wondered if royalty ever wished to be normal, and live normal lives.

Once everyone was up, Mars pulled the drawstring bag off his belt, fiddling with the opening. "Okay, so there is a slight change in plans. It occurred to me that most of you are human, so bringing you to the mob capital of the Nether would be... problematic." He says, finally opening the pouch. He reached in and pulled out a small, thumbnail sized orb, which glowed silver and didn't look solid. He rolled it in his slim fingers. "So I'm taking you somewhere else, it'll be a little safer. They guy who owns the place owes me a favor, and I'm sure he has plenty of room. Also, we can catch a ride from there after we gather supplies and such. After that, we will make our way west, where we can meet up with your other Soul Keeper friends...the Group...no...the Pack, right? Yeah, they are waiting at Fort Jackson." He tossed the ball of silver to Mitch, who fumbled with it before getting a good grip on it. He tossed one to everyone, before pulling out the last one and tying the closed bag back to his belt.

"That's the plan, anyway. So, have any of you used a Tely-ball before?" He asked, motioning to the small orbs. After everyone shook their heads, he nodded. "I expected so, but don't worry, it's easy. I've already got them set up to my buddy's location, so all you have to do is smash it at your feet, and boom, you'll be somewhere else." Mars pulled back his arm, about to toss the small bead at the ground beneath him, before he looked up, those pale lips stretched in a devilish smirk. "Oh, I hope no one is afraid of the dark." He purred, before releasing the bead and disappearing in a flash of silver.

Mitch wouldn't recommend Tely-ball travel to anyone who:
A.)  Is afraid of the dark
B.)  Hates cold places
C.)  Or hates the feeling of falling.

So in other words, Mitch loved it. The adrenaline was still pumping through his blood when he felt his feet touch the ground again. When he came back to reality, he found his friends and himself in a dark forest. They were in the middle of a dirt road that looked like it hadn't been used in a long time. On their sides where tall, dark pine trees that upon further inspection had black needles and dark chocolate colored bark. The grass was a dark green, almost black as well. The sky was a dark red, but it didn't seem too horrible.

"Where... where are we?" Jerome asked after appearing behind Mitch's left shoulder.

"Northern Nether. This is the best of it, and we have less of a chance to fall into lava pits." Mars  replied nonchalantly, slipping his hands into his hoodie pockets and beginning down the road. "Come on, put some boogie in your steps. Night'll fall soon." He added, and we needed no further encouragement.

Soon, the pathway opened into a clearing in which several buildings where huddled. The largest building was in the center, and looked like it had several floors. It was made of cobblestone, and Mitch could see windows made of iron bars. Next to it, on the left side, was another cobblestone building. It only looked one story tall, and wasn't very wide or long. Mitch wished he didn't still have super senses, because he could smell the grotesque stench of barnyard animals from that building.

On the right side of the large building were two smaller cobblestone buildings. One was fat and looked more square than rectangular like the others. It had no windows, but the smell of ash it gave off and the gray smoke that curled from the chimney in the center of the building gave Mitch the idea that the building was used as a forge. The other building, which was tucked behind the forge was more mysterious, with no windows or distinguishable features. It was, however, guarded by thick iron doors and heavy looking locks, so Mitch figured that whatever was in that building was supposed to be a secret.

Mars strode confidently forward, comfortable with the environment. "Welcome to Lazy Bones farm. The guy who owns the joint supplies the Rebellion with supplies like food rations, horses, and weapons. He's pretty cool, just don't make him mad." He warned, before knocking on the front door. "Bones! Get your skinny butt down here!"

After a few moments, the sound of heavy boots clanked down a corridor of some kind. The thick pine door unlocked and opened to reveal a tall, lanky male who looked very cranky.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?" He snapped, leaning against the threshold, and wiping his hands on an old looking rag. He had curly brown hair that fell just below his chin and twisted around his slightly pointed ears. His skin was tan, and the chocolate color of his hair gave him a Latino look. He wore an old powdered chocolate colored shirt, with its long sleeves rolled up to the elbow and the collar unbuttoned. It was stained with various colors and shapes that were mostly brown and black. He wore khaki colored cargo pants, the many frayed pockets scattered around the legs bulging. On his waist was a loose tool belt, and he also had suspenders clipped on. To top it all off, he had on worn-down working boots and a pair of aviator goggles resting on his forehead. It looked obvious that this man was a mechanic of some sort.

Mitch wondered what his face looked like under the mask he wore. Yes, the latino had a very recognizable mask covering the top half of his face. It reminded Mitch of Princess Lena's mask, however, this mask had fiery red designs instead of elegant purple ones.

"Oh, come on, I know you like it, and you know you do too." Mars commented, ignoring a 'No, I really don't' from 'Bones', and turning to face the group behind him. "Everyone, this is Keel Bones, and you can call him Kelly. He's a friend of mine, and will probably let us stay the night." He said, sending the obvious message to Kelly that they were going to stick around for a while. Kelly sighed, tucking a rag into an empty holder of his tool belt.

"Okay, sure whatever. As long as you stay out of my hair while I try to work, then you can stay as long as you want." He gestured to the building he was in. "This is the main area. The bottom two floors are my work areas, where I make machines and things like that. Over there," he says, jerking his thumb to the left, "is where I raise, train, take care of, etc, animals, mostly edible ones and horses. In the other direction," he jerked his thumb to the right, "is my forge. There is another building over there but... no one goes there, got it?" He barked, suddenly hostile. Once we all nodded and agreed to stay away from the locked mystery building, he nodded and moved out of the way so we could get inside. We ended up in a lobby with stairs to our left and a large bunker door to our right.

"Head up three sets of stairs and you will find the living areas, feel free to take any empty rooms and help yourself to food. The next floor is the roof, where I do my farming."

Kelly pulled a silver whistle from a back pocket of his tool belt and tossed it on the floor in front of us. "If you need me, just call." He said, turning and heading for the bunker door. He paused when his hand was on the handle, before turning around in a flurry of fake bowing.

"Welcome to Casa de Bones, and enjoy your stay." With that, he was gone, leaving nothing but the sound of a slamming door and a shiny silver whistle.
