Sierra and Drew both gasped as I explained what happened at the carnival and dinner the next say. Sierra had become good friend's with Drew and I and now it was like we were the Three Musketeers.
"So when is he going ask you to be his official girlfriend?" Sierra asked, picking at her nail polish.
I widened my eyes. "Did you NOT just hear what happened at the dinner? Frankly I don't want to speak to him again."
I decided not to tell them what happened after he took me home. No one could know about my father.
"Don't be so stubborn El, it's not like he murdered your mother."
I glared at him, oh, if looks could kill. I tend to overreact at things but you couldn't blame me this time.
**dinner**
I smiled as Harry pulled my seat out for me to sit in. He had really gone all out, taking me to the fanciest restaurant in our small town.
"You look really nice", he smiled nervously.
I had stared at my closet for hours, but finally decided on wearing a simple red dress and some nude heels, my hair up into a fancy bun and my makeup done simple but sweet.

"Thanks, so do you", I laughed.
He nodded slowly and nervously sipped the glass of water that they leave at the tables.
"So, what song do you think your singing for the solo in class this Monday?" Harry asked.
I shrugged. "I'm not sure yet. I haven't found the right song. What about you?"
"I'm not sure yet either, probably some up-beat song like the boys", he laughed, pushing some curls from his eyes.
"Are you guys ready to order?" The waiter smiled, looking from me to Harry.
"Uh, yeah I think so", Harry answered.
We both placed our orders and sat awkwardly in silence until our drink arrived. I sipped my lemonade awkwardly.
"So, how's Bethany?" Harry finally asked.
I shifted awkwardly in my seat. "She doesn't talk much these days. She always asks where daddy is when he's at the bar or when Joey is going to wake up because he was supposed to take her to the zoo."
"I'm sorry", Harry said quietly. "I should've brought it up."
"It's fine. She just doesn't understand death yet. She's too young to understand, we don't want her to."
He nodded and looked down, stirring the ice cubes in his drink. "That's understandable."
We both stayed quiet a bit longer before the food arrived.
"So what kind of music do you listen to?" Harry finally asked.
I shrugged. "Really a lot of different music but mostly slow songs and rock."
He glanced at me and smirked. "Slow songs and rock? That's a weird duo."
I laughed and nodded. "Yeah, well my music choices change by my mood when I'm listening to music. Those two genres base off of my feelings."
"Those feelings are...?"
"Sad, numb, and very pissed."
He laughed at the last one then glance at me for an explanation.
"Sad when I see my mom trying to be strong for Bethany and I's sake though I know she's depressed that she lost her son, very pissed whenever my dad comes home drunk and passes out, and numb is what I feel most of the time when I feel nothing at all and I can't even explain what it is."
