Urban Legend: Slenderman

The urban legend: Slenderman is no stranger to the internet since it was born there. It may have just been a story but it has turned into something much worse...

Slenderman is an extremely tall, thin figure wearing a black suit which is normally said to have been seen in forests and woods. But that isn't all. Slenderman is said to have no face at all and is just a white oval on a tall body.
If you see Slenderman he begins to stalk you, follow you home and watch you sleep through your window. He begins to stalk your every footstep.
The feeling of being stalked makes you think you're going crazy, you become very paranoid, you start to question everything. Slenderman becomes an obsession of yours and you want to know who he is and why he's stalking you. Because of this you get nauseous, have nosebleeds and have trouble sleeping. This is called: Slender Sickness.

So, Slenderman was born in 2009 on something called something awful internet in a photoshopping challenge. The challenge was to photoshop something really creepy into an everyday picture. Someone photoshopped a bunch of kids running away, screaming, from something and a creepy figure making out to be Slenderman in the back. The caption read: "We didn't want to, We didn't want to kill but its persistent silence and outstreched arms horrified us and comforted us at the same time,"
This picture went viral; not only did it look extremely real but it also was very creepy. We've all had those moments where we feel like something is watching us or you see something in the woods that may've been a tree. Well, Slenderman is all those feelings come to life.
Ever since that picture went viral many pictures have been made or "taken" and several people have said to have real experiences with Slenderman.
Now, the theory is, the more you put something out into the Earth, the more you sort of create it and it takes on it's own creation. It's kind of like when you put negativity out there. When you're always so negative, your life eventually turns negative. Well, maybe talking about this creature so much has made him become real and have its own existence.
In 2014, two 12 year old girls in Wisconsin held down their friend and stabbed her 19 times, because they said Slenderman 'told them to' The girl was stabbed in the woods and left for dead. She ended up crawling out of the woods and onto the streets and somebody passing by saw her and informed the police. The girl, thankfully, ended up surviving and the girls who did this are now in jail. And everytime the girls are asked why they did it, they say the same thing: "Slenderman told us." But this isn't the only time something like this has happened.
In September 2014, a 14 year old girl in Florida set her house on fire whilst her mum and 9 year old brother were still in there. So, when the police asked her why she did it, she replied with "Slenderman told me to'
Whether he is real or not, what is real is the fact that people become so obsessed with him that it starts taking over their brain.
Many people have said to seen Slenderman such as famous bloggers and the youtuber Shane Dawson also had an experience of Slenderman. What do you believe?
