Enjoy the story :) ____________________________________________________________________________________ I flicker open my eyes and sound and site come rushing back to me as I wake up. I hear the roasters crowing and squint my eyes. They always seem to be extra annoying when you first wake up. Looking out the window I see the sun is barley rising so I slide out of bed and a slip off my shirt. I head to the closet and pull out a blue plaid shirt and button it up.
I take my cringe brown hair out of a bun and start to brush it as I look in my bedroom mirror. There are bags under my eyes from barley getting any sleep. After brushing my hair I set the brush down and slip on a pair of jeans and then also slip on my boots. I head down stairs and grab a nice red bucket off the counter then quietly head out the door with out waking the rest of the family. once im outside I stick my nose up in the air and inhale the beautiful smell of fresh dew on the grass.
Smiling I head to the chicken coop and collect the eggs out of there and then set the eggs on porch to take in later. Then I head to the barn and throw the horses some hay and give the dogs some food. The labs are hyped up and jumping on there kennel fences as I feed them. Once I'm done with them I give my bunny, pancake, some medicine for its infected wound and then set it back in its cage. As I walk out of the barn I cover my eyes with my hand as the sun blinds me. How long has it been since I've been out here for the sun to already be up?
I walk back to the porch and see that the eggs are gone from the porch and I smile. My moms awake. I walk inside and immediately smell the eggs cooking that I had just collected along with the smell of a pumpkin spice candle. I hug my mom and then head back upstairs to get ready for school. After all the work with the animals I brush my hair once again. I look at the clock on the wall and sigh as I see its almost 7:30 am. meaning the bus will be here any moment. I grab my backpack and run down stairs grabbing my jean jacket that hangs on the railing at the bottom of the stairs. I grab a piece of toast out of my moms hands,kiss her forehead, Then run out the door just as the bus pulls up.
I walk onto the bus out of breath and sit down next to my best friend Emma.

"Hey you look as tired as a basset hound, you got the droopy eyes and everything" Emma laughs
"I've just been busy" I say finishing the piece of toast.
"I didn't do math homework did you?" Emma says giving me a worried look. She knows I never do math.
I shake my head and we both sigh. I'm the last stop so the bus doesn't take that long to arrive at school and I get off with Emma heading over to our table of friends. Sitting there is Jennifer.

"Hey Emma do you mind if i sit next to Katie" ayden asks. Emma moves over and ayden slides into her seat.
"so whats up" he asks looking around the table.
"Just trying to finish math" like always I say focusing on Ayden more than the math.
The bell rings and I sigh in failure. Only 10 problems done meaning it's another F on a homework assignment. We all get up and head to our classes. Ayden grabs my hand and intertwines it with his. We have first period together and as we walk in I let go of his hand and go sit down.
Through out the day I try and focus on the assignments but my mind wants to drift to sleep. I force my eyes to stay up and before every class I splash my face with water in the bathroom.
When the bell rings for last period to end I get up and walk out of class barley keeping my eyes open and then yawning. I meet everyone outside and am glad to finally see my friend Jackson for the first time today.

"Hey where have you been" I say walking up to everyone.
"Same place as you. This prison called school" Jackson responds and then laughs.
"Ok wise guy"
We all walk back to our table and talk until our parents come. Only Ayden has his drivers license, The rest of us still have to wait a while. Jennifer is the first to leave and then Emma. After a while I hear my moms noisy brown truck pull into the parking lot. I give Ayden a kiss goodbye and then head toward the truck.
