It's 4 am in the morning. I woke up from noises coming from the kitchen. Alex has already left. I didn't find him in my sofa. The steps in the kitchen made me nervous. I curiously looked out my door. Someone was walking. I walked slowly to the kitchen.

"Alex is that you?" shouted I "Can you please stop playing games and answer?!"

I couldn't take it anymore so I went straight to the kitchen. The sight shocked me. It was my father. Well it "was". I couldn't believe that he was dead. I began to cry. He went towards me. "I haven't said goodbye, daddy, why have you died?" I sobbed. My eyes spotted the knife lying on the board. I took it slowly. He almost took my arm as I shoved the knife in his head. The blood was covering a big part in the kitchen. I just lied on the floor. The only person that cared the most about me died in my arms.

My mom grabbed my arm and pulled it from the ground. So yeah, I was asleep on the bloody floor. My mom thought I was dead. She was shocked that I woke up.

"Oh my god, darling, you scared hell out of me!"

Her eyes were full of tears as she continued, "I thought that I lost you.. From now on, you can't go outside."

I yelled "But how we're going to get food?"

"Our maids are going to get it." she said.

"They already left actually" said I with anger.

After a while I looked at our street. It wasn't empty as it was yesterday. It didn't look like it was overrun yet. People went outside like nothing happened. I went outside, too. There stood troops. They built up a big wall during this night. "How quick!" I thought.

After 1 hour, I heard that someone is throwing small stones to my window. It was Alex. He was with his leather jacket and ripped jeans. His blonde hair was pulled up in a small bun. It made him to look like a bad boy. He changed a lot over one year. He was opposite from what he looked today. Before he looked like a loser who played video games and ate hamburgers 24/7. And now, like a real man.

I opened the window.

"What do you want?" shouted I

"Well, miss, I came here for your help." said he.

"Why have you left me last night? You knew that my father is going to turn."

"I left you because you needed to kill him by yourself. He's your family..." his voice lowered.

"But if he could kill me?"

"I knew you could do that." he told while he smirked his green eyes, "So are you gonna help me?"

"I can't. My mom doesn't let me go outside." said I with a low voice.

"Wait... Are you grounded in apocalypse? Your mom is so stupid!" laughed he.

"She's not stupid. Don't dare to call her stupid! She tries to protect me!" shouted I.

"Calm down..lol" he rolled his eyes, "So are you gonna help me or not?

"With what?" asked I.

"Hmm, my girlfriend got trapped in a school locker, and I forgot my full bag of guns there."

"I am definitely not going outside the fence. It's dangerous !" I said strictly.

"I can protect you, miss."

"Don't call me "miss"!"

"Fine, miss!" laughed he.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, I can try to sneak out."

He smiled.

I looked at my mom. She was done cleaning the blood in the kitchen and went to sleep. "It's time" thought I. I dressed up in black and climbed out of my window. He waited outside. We walked to the fence. It was enormous and tall. We took a sight that nobody's here. There was a door. I have noticed, he stole the key.
Once we walked through it, I saw that the outside world looked horrible. The buildings burnt down, the cars were crashed into each other, some monsters were walking slowly the street. My school was right in the corner. Alex said it was the first building which got hit the hardest in the neighborhood.

"Be by my side. Don't go anywhere," whispered he in my ear.

I could smell his cologne. He looked pretty serious. When we got in school, we met some monsters in our way. He killed them. We found that locker. From it came out his girlfriend. She was my enemy. Her name was Melanie. Melanie didn't like me since elementary school, and I have no idea why.
