Ch.8 We Protect Our Own

This is how Renesmee looks now.

At the wolves howl Edward Cullen realized that they were tricked. The Volturi weren't just passing through. He stiffened in shock while Demetri bid them good bye and left.

"Edward?" His wife, Bella looked at him with concern. The whole coven fallowed suit. Edward could read everyone's mind but Bella's because she had a mental shield to protect her mind from intorsion. But he knew her well enough to know she was worried.

"They took Leah." Edward said. How come I didn't see it all along. He thought to himself.

"I can't see them." Alice said. Her eyes clouded with fear, proving his statement.

"Renesmee..." Bella gasped fearing for her daughter.

"Is fine." Edward assured her. "She's going to the house now." He informed Carlisle.

"Let's go then." Roseline demanded. They got there in seconds.

The Cullen house was a beautiful modern structure that managed to blend in while with nature. Trees surrounded it and hid it within the forest. The Cullens walked up the porch and into their living room. Nesse sat on the couch waiting for them. Bella went to her daughter and pulled her in a hug.

"What happened?" Emmett asked Carlisle as he went to a raven haired woman who looked like she was in her late twenties, Esme and a dark haired looking teen, Jasper.

Since they were immoral the Cullens were at lest a hundred years old with and exception of Bella and Renesmee. Bella became a vampire at eighteen and is now twenty five. Renesmee was another story. She is Bella had Edward's daughter when she was still human so Renesmee is a half vampire and half human and is now six but she looked seventeen and had the maturity level higher than an adult. The coven as a whole looked in their twenties and were more of a family than anything else.

"The Volturi took Leah." Alice answered him and Jasper went to his mate giving her a considered look. Edward blocked out their silent conversion.

"What happened Renesmee?" Carlisle asked his granddaughter. She closed her chocolate brown eyes and showed her family her experience.

Jacob and Renesmee sat on the beach finishing their sand castle when the pack howled. Jacob shoot her a look and she knew she had to go home. They got up and ran to her grand parents' house were he left her with Emmett and Jasper who
was watching a baseball game. Jacob then shifted and headed to the woods.
