Aliyah
-

I sit here in my room, with one bag packed to the top.
The clock is ticking and my heart is racing. Theres the locked door, and a hesitant consious bugging the hell out of me.

"Dont do it"

"Just stay"

"He wont hurt you"

"You're not going anywhere, you're mom is even worse. What are you thinking?"

All my thoughts were cut off due to the familiar slurred voice of my druken father.

"Aliyah.. ALIYAH. COME OUT NOW! I NEED..I NEED.. MORE.."

I stand up still shaking and I grab my bag and my phone.

I try to open the window cautiously, and as slick as possible.

I always wanted to leave this scumbag.
He was abusive, just not to the point where a bitch needed to post the fuck up.

I hop out and land on my balcony.

Suddenly I find myself rushing as I hear my dad's voice once more.

"YOU. YOUR. A BITCH. DID YOU LEAVE? HUH? ..HOPE YOU GET KIDNAPPED YOU MOTHER FUKIN BRAT.."

-

The bus starts and im still stuck between guilt and relief.

Im not like this, I'm not a bad ass.
Im the good one that's always still pre lit.

I dose off and before I knew it this old lady pokes me with her long acrlic nail.

"Oh my gosh sorry."
I say wiping my hair that was stuck on my face while I was asleep.

I stand up and grab my bag, and she sits in the seat I was just in.

"Is this redwood ma'am?"
I ask her still a little tired.

"No. Next stop."
She says with a little smile

I nod and before I could turn she motions me over to her.

"Look honey. I don't know, nor do I care where you are from but you aren't going to survive here like that here. You need to change."

She lets out a chuckle and I just stand there shocked.

"How so?"
I ask her not letting what she just told me just eat me away.

"You're too good. People here around your age will see you as a hell of a weak person. Or like a nerdy bitch or somthin."

She says while applying lipstick and holding her little mirrior from her bag.

"Ok, um. Thanks?"

I turn and my mind goes blank.
Change?
What the hell?

The bus stops and I walk out getting more adrenaline than ever. My mom said she would be out waiting for me.
But she forgot I guess.

I knock on the door only to find some guy with slick back hair and a couple of tatoos. I will say his pants are being held down by gravity way more than it should..

"Ey you musta be like aly or somethin."
He says before I could even ask whi he was.

My mom is always like this.
Finding guys on myspace or facebook.
If they find her attractive they basically got themselves a free ticket to go in her room.

"And you must be from facebook, or noo. Dont tell me you're from Christian mingle?"

I respond and I hope he doesn't say something because I sure as hell shouldny have said that.

My mom speaks for him and tells me that he's my new step dad.

Wonderful.

This is the 3rd one.

She walks out and hugs me, she lets go and kisses me on my forehead.

"I need to go for now but when I come back we can talk!"
She makes an exciting face and brings jerry with her.

After my mom leaves I start to unpack, and I can already feel the loneliness kick in once more.

Sirens become more and more audible and I dont know how to react besides call my old step sister.

I hate sirens, they remind me of when my mom called the cops on my dad once and I hid in my closet. They forgot about me, it scared me and ever since it just gives me chills.

Then I hear a knock at my window,
My whole body shakes.

Laci, my old step sister doesn't answer and that leaves me no choice but to stand in fear.

Another knock enters my room and I look at the window to find a boy around my age.

He was holding a black bag, and he looked at me from a corner.

He's cute.

HEY no, the police are probably for his ass.

I close the curtain again and another knock enters the room.

Damnit leave me alone.

I open it again agitated, and let him read my lips.

"What the hell do you want?"

He mouths back and tells me he needs to come in with his lips.

He has big pink lips.. and they're cute. Fuck.

I get distracted but he looks so worried..

I open it and motion him in.

He runs in faster than flash and it makes me want to laugh but I hold it in.

He slightly closes the window and looks at me in the eyes.
