Corrupted Hopes

-[7]- Rise Again.

Lights shine from the lamps and the natural sunlight from the glass in the underground.
It wasn't rare to see the sunlight in the underground. Clouds and the moon falls into rarity though.

It start to turn up as a good fresh morning.

Kai couldn't forget about the girl he encountered last night. He thought of her as someone he could..admire. As usually, he went over to Ember's place to pick her up. But she was already awake but still wasn't dressed for school. For her to help herself redeem concious from sleep, she gave Kai a book that appeal weird to her.

He throw the book at his sister, showing a disregard looking face. "I hate this book," he shouts. His sister looks surprise due to his reaction. Ember glance at him. "Yo, I know you don't like it but was that really necessary? These books aren't priceless."

Kai's reply is a shrug. "Welp, my bad. I have a bad temper then."

"No you don't," she sigh as she walk over to pick up the book and place it back on the shelf.

Kai sit down on the couch, only to hug his legs. Ember watch him. "Hey,"

Kai glance at her. "Hm?"

"Are you okay?"

Nah, not really. Considering Kai encountered a Sword Slinger.

"Yeah, why?" He lies to his sister to hide that feeling.

"Considering that your on my couch, hugging your legs like a baby and rocking back and forth," she sit down across from him.

"Okay, that last part was bullshi-" Kai pause to see Ember giving him narrow eyes, which was like a death stare to him.

"...Ship," he sigh. It was her rule to never swear under her roof. "Do you know any other Sword Slingers other than me?"

Ember startle from hearing his question. She told him back then that he was a special one because of his role in the military, and it was recent. To her it's strange for him to ask again. "What do you mean? You know you're the only one in this region-" she forgot.

"Ember?"

"Well, there is one I know."

"Is it a girl?"

"Yeah. Heard it from Mitch? Since he mentioned a woman asking his help for her sword-"

"The girl with the loose black hair?"

Ember stare at him, rising her eyebrow. "How do you know that?"

"Know what?" Kai drop his legs, leaving them hanging at the edge of the couch. He start to sit on it properly.

"Her appearance."

"She was in the bunker last night," Kai stretch and stand up, getting off the couch. He take a quick glance at the clock.
"Hurry up! We are going to be late!"

"But this is importa-"

"Can it! We'll talk about it later."

They got to class before the teacher giving out lessons. It was the first time they were almost late.

Their class was taken  pretty normally. Learning about their purposes, the government and their selves. Till it was time for their break.

"What's up with that late introduction?" Nova smirk at him.

"Oh shut up. You're twice as bad than this," they both laugh. Dane come over and starts to hang his arms around their shoulders.

"Would you look at that, both of you guys are complete perfection for each other," he grin.
