"How many codes are we at now?" Asked Nate.
"Two. But... we just found another one! Quick, Matt, get it down!" Said Stephanie excitedly.
"You're really getting into this." Said Matt, a little freaked out.
"I don't know, it's just the thrill of the hunt. Hey, check out The Dollmaker again,we probably missed a code." She said, pointing at the link.
"Steph, you being kind of creepy." Matt backed away from her. Nate gasped.
"Matthew! How dare you defy the second ancient law of fanfictions; If thou fails to obey the first law of fanfictions, thou must not mention Stephanie Patrick being grumpy and/or having flaws." He scolded him.
Matt turned to his wife. "Oh, right. sorry."
Stephanie shrugged. "It's fine. Now, go to the second gun site."
Matt clicked on the link. "Hey, this is way less expensive than the one on the first site." He pointed out.
"Should we call them about it?" Stephanie joked.
Suddenly, Nate gasped. "Turn off the lights. Quick!"
"What's going on?" Asked Matt.
"Just turn the lights off and stay silent. You can talk when I say so." Stephanie ran over to the light switch and then back to Matt.
With the pitch black all around them, Nate and Steph held their breath. But Matt was still confused. "What-" Steph slapped a hand over his mouth.
Outside, they heard a muffled voice. "Signum? Non ex eius hic."
Stephanie's eyes went wide. I think that's Latin. She thought.
"Non est qui hone." The voice said. It was deep and unnerving. The voice faded away as the young couple listened to footsteps fade away.
"Okay, you can get back now." Said Nate.
Matt and Steph sat back down. "Who was that?" Matt asked.
"That..." Nate started. "Was the guy who kidnapped Jason."
